  1. Sweet looking Stripers ! I was very addicted to that particular species for a long time. It was a good time. I'd like to mention that when the bite was good during the day, it was Always Even Better at Night. So if night ops are manageable for you, I highly recommend them. Either way, the success your enjoying now is fantastic and making me long for days past. Congrats. A-Jay
  2. Good looking bass. I'm jealous, we frozen over here a week ago or so. Hope it the ice holds off and the fish keep biting for you. A-Jay
  3. Some interesting points mentioned. I enjoyed it. Also, Mr Parks stated that he preferred a Quantum reel. I like that too. A-Jay

  6. I highly recommended tirerack.com. The prices are very competitive and even with the shipping you'll do very well. I have been a faithful customer for several years having purchased more sets of tires (and wheels) than I'm willing to admit to. Even if you chose not to purchase from them, you may want to check out the thousands of reviews and individual tire ratings they provide. It can be a big help and you usually can find reviews that are specific to your vehicle (make, model and year) Also, if your local tire retailer participates in "price matching" you may be able to bring him a print out of the specific tires you're looking for and they might match it right there. Good Luck. A-Jay http://www.tirerack.com/index_w.jsp

  12. I had the privilege of serving 28 years myself and relocated 19 times. I also played the resident/non-resident fishing and hunting license game - over and over. No doubt it's a challenge to keep up. After wasting too much time and effort attempting to circumvent the system, I chose to simply read the regulations and follow them. It was allot easier and I really enjoyed the peace of mind. I do not agree with or appreciated what the clerk was attempting to do for you and feel you made the correct choice. So good for you. As service members/veteran we definitely make sacrifices but we get our share of benefits and perks as well. As for this portion of your story ~ "others customers acted like I was crazy for spending money when I could have gotten away with fishing for free" ~ This mind set will ALWAYS make me shake my head. These folks are no doubt passing this to their children. No Ethics. How about having pride in doing the right thing whether anyone else knows you're doing it or not ? You know. OK - I'm done. Guess this hit a bit of a sore spot with me. A-Jay

  16. 1. They never wake up late. 2. It's never too cold or wet for them. 3. They hardly ever have to stop because they got a cramp. 4. They do not care if your running clothes are fashionable. 5. No hill is too steep. 6. The same old route always seems totally new to them. 7. They will carry your water bottle in their pack without complaining. 8. They never need new running shoes. 9. It's like running with a Rock Star, everyone smiles and waves. 10. They will clean the sweat off your face when you get home. A-Jay
  17. If we ever figure that one out there will be a lot more sunburns & summer fish pictures posted up. ;D A sunburn actually sounds good right about now . . . . . A-Jay

  21. And to really cement in what the next 5 months will be like here, it's snowing today . . . . . But I'm trying to stay positive. I was able to fish and catch some decent fish right up to Thanksgiving last year. And to help get me through the hard water period, I've decided to make this link my home page.
