Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  4. That's real man's work right there my friend. I could NEVER even come close to hanging with you while you do that deal. So nicely done. Adds up fast doesn't it. Final bit of advice though, when you're done with that work, replace the stress and strain with something else. Doesn't need to be quite as arduous, but what you have now will fade fast when not asked to continue. Super pretty work as always. ? A-Jay
  5. What vehicle are you planning to use to tow this new rig with ? A-Jay
  6. After a scheduled off day and a fishing day, I was back in the home gym again this morning. Pull 1 was the focus and I had to work at it. Battled 475 lbs for a couple of sets, so that felt pretty good. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  7. I need to hand park the Pro-V bass in my garage as well. I went this way. Works well. A-Jay Sorry but I'm not sure that the ABT Lures Trailer Jack Skate is even still being produced or is available anywhere now. Just looked and found nada. Kind of a bummer because it's pretty sweet. A-Jay
  8. I am not a Wacky worm fan at all. But I keep waiting for you to get on the Z-Man Jackhammer Train. Some of those places seem 'tailor-made' for it. All Aboard ! A-Jay
  9. That is some impressive Bassing ~ ! And all on topwater to boot. Just Wow. Congrats A-Jay
  10. You know it. There were several, there almost always is. Just showed the one. Jacked up a few trailers but I didn't lose any baits, so that's a plus. Once the water temps in there dip closer to 65-ish, the really tanker pike will move in there and then it gets ugly. A-Jay
  11. Not surprisingly I left out some parts of this video. I'm fixing it now . I'll leave this one up until the complete one loads. Did I mention I was totally Jacked ? Well, I am. A-Jay
  12. Spent a pretty Mid August morning on the water but my mind was drifting all over the place. I started out looking for a topwater bite that never came. Switched to the Jackhammer vibrating jig and never put it down. 3/8 oz in the shallower areas and 1/2 oz in spots over 6-8 feet or so. All the bites came from 'edges'. Edges of weeds, edges of sand spots and edges of the edges. Lost the best bite I had. I'll be looking for redemption soon. Fish Hard A-Jay
  13. The Big Fish Something ? Not sure what that's about. But the more big fish you hold in your hands, the more big fish something you probably have. Personally, as a fully addicted basshead, I do not believe it's possible to ever have enough. This may be the polar opposite of that. YMMV A-Jay
  14. I know I'm all old and stuff but even still, it's pretty hard for me to call a 7 oz reel mounted on a 5 oz rod, heavy. A-Jay
  15. Nice bass but that shirt is clearly defective, A-Jay
  16. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am not a fan of super light gear. A-Jay
  17. The DX is not exactly a feather weight stick (which is why I like it) so anything @ 7 oz seems good. btw the full cork handle is sweet & just the right length IMO. Allows for a sweeper style hookset like a swimbait but with a jackhammer. A-Jay
  18. I can't say, like I said. I took a flyer on this stick. I'm glad I did though. A-Jay
  19. This is my plan B. Swarm Magnum 10X GEN2 INERTIA FED .177 caliber 10-shot air rifle And it's almost not even fair. A-Jay
  20. Wasn't able to get into the home gym until this afternoon. Not my favorite. But I doubled down and made Push 1 happen. I'm not afraid to pump up the volume a little as long as I can get the proper rest & calories to support it. This one went well. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

    Over a decade later and the debate continues . . . . . A-Jay
  22. That's interesting. My place is surrounded by a hundred hostas - because it's the only thing the rabbits don't eat. But Tank will most definitely eat the rabbits. Every one. A-Jay
  23. I've been using the old Quantum KVD composite cranking rods for 3/8 & 1/2 oz Jackhammers and have been very happy. Specifically the 7'1" and 7'4" MH Mod. But last week I took a flyer on a couple of Tackleware House exclusives - mostly for the 1/2 baits. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWAROD.html?from=basres " Inspired by the Evergreen Heracles Leopard rod, the Daiwa DX Type-H Glass Reaction Rod is built with an advanced GLATECH construction, which combines high-density, uni-directional fiberglass with HVF graphite material to give anglers the very best of both worlds." For that price ( and the military discount) I might get a couple more. Been on the water with them once. So far I really Like them. Paired them with the Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Reel 6.3:1 - Jury's still out on the reels. Good Luck A-Jay
