Help Me Decide
First week of August is a often a great time to be on the waters up north. If it were me, I'd be looking for 'greener' pastures. So I'm going with NO. At least until you find the fishing has improved, or you plan on fishing something else. Good Luck. btw, personally not a fan of 'the spray'. Toasted at least two of my favorite little canoe lakes. It was brutally bad. Haven't been back in over 5 years. A-Jay

Crazy Shimano question
I would recommend calling Shimano Technical Support. 1-877-577-0600 I actually prefer the T-handle and have switched out several different Shimano 2500 reels on which they were not OE. Shimano was able to quickly & accurately tell me what was compatible and what I needed parts wise to make the switch. Was even able to place the order on the spot. Good Luck A-Jay

Love New Truck Day ~
Over the years here, my dealer (Jeff & I have become good friends) He knows what he getting well in advance of me turning it it. Essentially pristine condition inside & out that still has warranty mileage available. So three years old with, less than 20k on it. I even run my own wheels & rubber in the winter, so the OEM wheel & tires I turn in have practically no mileage on them and look brand new. There's often 3 or 4 prospective buyers lined up and wait for me to turn it in. Same Ex -Marine has bought the last two I turned in. Jeff makes some money and I'll get a decent down payment. This one should be particularly interesting as used vehicle prices & availability have been all over the map recently. If for some reason the residual was way upside down, I'll just refinance, keep it a year and then sell it out right myself. Haven't had to do that yet, as Jeff keeps making deals I can't refuse. After this winter is over I'll give it the A-Jay treatment and take it in for an oil change. That'll remind them that I'll be in the market for a new one and wheels will start turning. Love living in a small town. A-Jay

Spare Prop
You're welcome. I do carry an extra TM prop & sheer pins but Do Not have a "Spare" SS Tempest Plus Clearly a good investment but I've yet to make it. Especially at 700 American. I do carry a spare hub kit, and all the tools to change it if I were to ever spin it. But that would only be of any practical use if the prop is still 'usable'. You're making me reconsider now . . . . Thank You. A-Jay

Bow roller
The stock unit that came with the Shoreland'r trailer is a 3 piece deal. Not totally sure what the material is but it's definitely not rubber. More of a urethane I think. Either way it's pretty hard but non-marking after several seasons. Don't have a pic but you can see it pretty clearly in this video clip. A-Jay

Love New Truck Day ~
First of this month marked year two with this AT4 and I am still loving it. Time flies when we're having fun. So right about this time next next year I should be taking delivery of a new one (2024). Plan on placing the order beginning of October. Probably going with Black this time. Body style hasn't change which means I should be able to simply move the A.R.E Cap from my current rig to the new one. Always a Plus. I'll be very interested to see what the 'current' residual value will be. Depending on the used truck market next spring, there could be a surprise. A-Jay

Bait fish by season?
Up this way, the Round Goby has become a Scooby Snack for Fat Brown Bass and just about everything else in the food chain that can slurp them down. My personal seasonal progression regarding a brown bass's food source starts soon after open water. Yellow perch spawn and bass will be in the mix. Crayfish & goby pretty much all season. Mayfly hatch in early summer, short lived though. Then Perch & crayfish again until hard water. Learning where the food is and why has paid off. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Total Body 3 this morning. Went into this one a little flat but was able to ramp it up to feel good about it in the end. Training solo has it's challenges for sure. Performed 3 working sets of six movements. Showing two here (except for calf work). Might take an extra off day, we'll have to see. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Any thoughts on this?
Back in my Search & Rescue days and seeing how that 'angler' is without a life Jacket in a 5 foot 'boat', we'd call that Unit Case Number 279-23. A-Jay

Wind direction?
I can get with this mostly. Much of this is very location / lake dependent. Wind direction and speed is one of The Main deals that determine which lake I'm fishing. Smaller bodies of water are better for me in any kind of a big blow, where as larger lakes that have several miles of fetch, can & do get rocking & rolling well beyond the safe fishing zone. Regardless of the wind direction, I do much better when the wind is blowing Straight on or straight off the structure/cover I'm looking to fish. Regardless of how productive an area might have been in the recent past (and that includes the day before), when the wind blows down the length of something, meaning I would be fishing into a side ways wind, I am NOT a happy camper. How many lipless cranks too many?
Using @Tennessee Boy's latest numbers from the American Psychological Society concerning lipless crankbaits, seems I'm creeping up into the " The Nuts" category. Which I'm OK with. However, diving even deeper into this deal reveals that it's the banding and after market hardware change on each and every bait that truly scratches my itch. A-Jay

my kayak fish finder is getting JANKY, what was it like fishing without one?
what was it like when there was only old school fish finders..or none? Bassheads who have been there & done that, will all have their own version of what it was or maybe even is, like to fish without ANY electronics or even the earliest bare bones models. Without anything, for me, there was a lot of triangulation, a lot of fishing memories rather than the conditions and some long stretches of going without a bite. I always started fishing for bass way too late in the season and stopped way to early. Bottom contact baits were my 'fish finders' for a Loooong time. Finding drops, humps, holes, hard & soft bottoms, as well as weeds, wood, rocks and other types of cover, often not exactly identified. Just knew they held fish. Reality is, I could 'get by' with a depth finder and some half way decent mapping. GPS was cool when it first came out but lacked the accuracy we see now. Finally, having no electronics made night fishing - night fishing. https://youtu.be/r6E1WCWedPc?t=629 A-Jay
