  1. Powell Max 705c or 766c, or Daiwa Zillion 7'MH
  2. The same as the scorpion, actually I think the scorpion is .2 oz lighter
  3. Looks like they painted a Sabalos and added a faster gear set. What I'm really wanting is one of those jr. champion kits What's next, is he leaving Lucky Craft for Matzuo
  4. Fishes them fine, a t-rigged senko is rather heavy and it casts them pretty well. I've fished senkos, ikas, 3/16-3/4oz t-rigs and jigs with no trouble.
  5. A tube is one of my go to baits. I usually use a BPS tendertube and lately cabin creek tubes made locally, I usually fish a green or brown color, natural colors. For me it works trigged or on a jighead. Cabin creek tube BPS tender tube
  6. I have a 704 and 703, I think you made the right choice. Both are good rods but the 704 is more versatile with bottom baits.
  7. couldn't help it
  8. shallow or deep? I use a 7'MH Lucky Craft Cranking Rod for deep divers 12-20'.
  9. My recommendations are P-line CX, CXX, or Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Spinning 8-10lb Cranks and jerkbaits 10-12lb Spinnerbaits and plastics 12- Jigs 15-20lbs
  10. I remember reading an article when they first came out where Duckett said he used a cheap blank for the rods to cut costs. I don't remember where it was from but I read it here after they were introduced. I've never fished one but personally don't like the white blank and yellowed epoxy
  11. Contact Dobyns, some days you can talk to Gary directly, I'm sure they'll set you straight.
  12. I have a 7'M paired with a Shimano Stradic CI4 2500 and 8lb P-line Flouro-clear....one word describes it IMO...MONEY. I love mine, balances great, light, and sensitive. I've said it several times here, I'd recommend it to anyone. I use mine for shakey heads and dropshots.
  13. I tried it but didn't like it for deep cranks, it's really thin and limp but not very strong, I fish deep cranks alot near rocks and under a bridge so my line gets eaten up pretty bad on just a few casts. The suffix couldn't handle it and I lost a few cranks when I shouldn't have. I prefer 10lb P-line over any other line I've tried for deep cranks.
  14. I have had the opposite experience, I find the original and super spook very easy to walk. I don't care for how the Sammy sits in the water, every one I've fished sits close to vertical making it hard to initiate the walking action.
  15. I don't think I'd compare it with the STX, maybe the Pflueger President2.
  16. Depending on the power and action, spinnerbaits, small swimbaits, jerkbaits, topwater, and swimming grubs
  17. at the lake I normally fish, a fish caught makes a good day, a keeper makes a great day. There are days that I go out and catch several back to back, and then there are days that the goose lays the egg. It's those days that you really work for the bite that seem the most worth while
  18. don't, nothing beats chicken liver, shad, or bluegills around here
  19. I use copoly for deep-divers, 10lb cxx to be exact.
  20. I would say that's it, I've seen quiet a few guys throwing gunfish
  21. I saw that too and really have no idea how that would work, just doesn't make sense to me. They didnt really explain what it did, but just how to do it.
  22. Congrats, my favorite are the Strike King Series 5-6 baits, LC RC 1.5s, bomber fat free shads, and the Norman thin n baits. I'm also starting to like koppers live target baits.
  23. That's one big algae eater
