  1. I'm with you Catt. I see it as over thinking. I have confidence in many things, mainly myself. I have deduced what I can and have figured I'm in the "better" places of the lake according to what I've read and learned. Now, I just FISH! I am pretty confident that there are a number of presentations, colors etc that will all work when placed properly, in the right location. That's about as deep as I'll let it get. There are so many variables, you could never narrow it down to one flawless combo. If that were possible, tournament fishing wouldn't exist. In my opinion, the trick stick, jig and rubber worm have come the closest to being the "cure all" but guess what,...there are days when even those won't work. JUST FISH
  2. 2:30am, 9.2lbs. Many are going to reply "middle of day" (because they don't fish at 2am) You'll never know what that night bite is like to judge it if you are tucked in next to the wife. In other words, the stats show the majority of the records are caught midday, the same time that the majority of people are fishing. If 90% of the people fished at night and 10% during the day, I'd bet good money that the stats would thusly reflect those percentages Doug Hannon also believes that the bigger bass feed mostly during the day but also admits that it's very hard to fool one in full light, that's how & why they got that big. He also admits, however, that these same fish do not see your misgivings as much at night (line, unnatural motion of lure, etc), yet they feed then also, just not as actively. Clear water or high pressure lakes, I'm all about the night bite. Even with less active feeding going on, you still have a better chance at your big fish in my opinion.
  3. Because A. Some of these guys make $$ hunting big fish. B. A world/state record is worth a lot of $$ C. These spots are earned and learned, let others find them the same way.
  4. Although this may be how some have gotten it done, we highly discourage against instructing members how to get away with something illegal. This is especially the case when what you are trying to do is easy enough to do legally. To get the numbers verified, simply call the state police and make the appointment. They even come to you, couldn't be any easier.
  5. Enjoy your time off guys
  6. 0-60? ;D what kind of mileage does that thing get?

  13. Everyone, let's congratulate CJ as he is the June '08 BR Elite member of the month!!! CJ was along for the Guntersville trip and from what I've been told, he was a huge help to quite few anglers, not just putting them on fish but teaching them how to find fish for themselves. Chris is always a big help to folks on the board and just a well rounded BR member. We sure are proud to have this fish catching machine with us and I personally am looking forward to meeting him next year on his home lake at the 4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip to Kentucky Lake, Montana (board Joke) Kentucky. Turn offs: Conflict of any kind and disrespectful people Aspirations: To try to do for mine what mine did for me. To do quality work and have a quality life. Essay: I grew up near the Clarks river bottoms in western Kentucky. Spent most of my time in the woods hunting or fishing the river or farm ponds near by and getting to go out on Ky Lake with my dad and grandfather too. I started working in tobacco and on a vegetable farm at a young age. My grandfather was my mentor who taught me that hard, honest work was the only way of life. At the age of 18, I dropped out of high school and started working in construction. I also went through many phases with my past times but I always seemed to find time to put a rod and reel in my hands. I started breaking quarter horses and then started bull riding on the professional circuit by the time I was 20. That's when I met a girl from a small town in Missouri that became the love of my life (seemed she had a thing for little cocky cowboys). A few years later we were married and had started a family. My bull riding career was over. I couldn't provide for my family by getting my guts stomped out! It was back on the roofs for me. I still rode my horses some but there was this love for bass fishing that still burned deep down. In 2003 my grandmother passed away. My grandfather took it pretty hard. I had made mention to him that getting another boat and putting in some time on the water would be good for him. He went and bought a new boat and we did just that. I started getting into bass fishing more than ever. A lot of people who know me will tell you, when I set out to do something I give it all I got. I went out and bought my own 14 ft. jon boat. I learned a lot in that little boat. In 2005 my competitive spirit got the best of me. I wanted to learn more about Ky. Lake so I decided to start fishing the BFL as a co-angler. The first tournament I ever fished, I caught my personal best at 7 lbs. even and got third place cashing in over $900. A couple tournaments later and I catch my next two biggest fish at 6 lbs and 6 lbs. 14 oz. and get my first tournament win with 19 lbs. 1 oz. Not only was I hooked, I had learned a lot really quick. The ability to feel the bite and set the hook had already been welded in my hands from those summer evening on the river and at the ponds, thanks to my dad. I had been shown and given the confidence to fish offshore from some of the best on Ky. Lake. All the meanwhile, I was digging every bit of info from books and then I found this place on my dad's computer called Bass Resource to which I owe a lot of my bass fishing knowledge to! A couple a years later and I have won around $30,000 dollars in cash and prizes. My partner and I winning a new boat in 2007 makes up for most of that. So now here I still am. Still learning and living life the best I can. I love spending time with my family most of all. My boys are starting to get that age to where they fish with me. My wife has took up the tradition as well. It doesn't get much better than this! Thanks Bass Resource for letting me be part of this family! 15. Rod butt slaps on the forearm till the wrist learns to take that energy. Also, digging the rod butt into your side or belly. You'll Get there Teria, way to keep at it. BTW- I know I didn't catch 10 fish yesterday so you're doing something right ??
  16. Teria-PM sent
  17. So they are aware that someone who has never met you, like me, can get the info on you that I did? Did you show them my PM to you? They're ok with that? I seriously doubt that would make a parent comfortable.
  18. Your main vulnerability is thinking,..."It could never happen to me." Naitivity EVERYONE is vulnerable to the internet but youths are less experienced in life, they just haven't seen as much deception as someone who has been around longer. It's not a reflection on a kids intelligence at all. Lack of awareness and ignorance are however. Like I said, we are all vulnerable so if you prey on kids, where do you hunt? A place where they gather in the masses so you have plenty to choose from. These people are out there. Set up your account as "private" if you like but if you think you are protected now,...you are wrong. Think about it, people hack into banking systems and govt systems every day,...do you really think myspace is a fortress? Step back, look at the big picture. and for what it's worth, I'm just trying to keep you guys aware, I'm not being mr negative. **crzy- I won't post your personal info but go look in your PM box and see what I just found on you in 30 seconds.
  19. Go Buckman, Go Buckman....... ;D I am putting out an open invite to fill my front seat. Anyone who is willing to throw these big baits in our Lake X for the entire trip, step on up. Make me a believer. Yes, the larger fish are there to be caught, trust me. Anyone?
  20. For any saltwater fish we are going to keep. it gets filleted immediately, out on the water. Filets are iced. Be careful keeping live fish on a stringer, illegal here in RI.
  21. Ain't learnin' fun?
  22. You were asking for it being scantily dressed like that......... ;D
  23. To expand on Sams comments, if you see a member and you really like the way he explains thingsd or his patience level or whatever (like Sam,lol) feel free to PM that person with your question. As you read, you'll notice that some guys have niches that they specialize in. Some of these folks are the very best at what they do. (i.e, we have a swimbait crew, a plastics crew, some crankers, etc) If you need something specific or feel that a certain person could answer you best, by all means, contact them. But don't leave us out. Report what you learned in a "Thank You" thread or something like that. and by all means, please try to have patience with some of the newer members. We were all there once. Make the difference to that person, if you are "done" with the particular question, either don't reply or just post a "welcome Aboard" Save the sarcasm for us senior folks
