Ya, it seems EVERY time we have a Shimano vs. Daiwa thread (which we have many), they get closed down because people are very loyal to their brands. There's also a lot of guessing and misconceptions spread as truth, and folks get upset when they realize they were one of them. A lot of emotions and egos over...fishing. It's supposed to be fun folks. No reason to get all bent up because somebody buys for different reasons than you. What's important to you, often isn't for others. As long as they're out fishing and enjoying it, I'm happy for them.

I can't speak for Kastking, but the Okuma Halogen uses lightweight carbon-fiber sideplates, not plastic. And Okuma does use their own factory for many of their reels. So, no, they're not the same reels as other brands. Man I hate it when people make assumptions and spread misinformation. Either get it right or stop guessing.

Remember when they were saying Sam Darnold couldn't win a big important game? They can't say that anymore! That said, it was sloppy on both sides of the ball. There's definitely room for improvement. The good thing is that the team KNOWS it. They're not resting on this win.

Congrats on the project. I know it's both satisfying and aggravating for you. High corp pressure to launch "something" by a certain date is never fun. It's the 70% rule. That's an excellent point. Everything will eventually be repaired, rebuilt, and replaced. But you can't replace lives.

So.....this is along JUST ONE ROAD, a pass road. Scenes like this are everywhere....

That's just a small sample. There's really no way to capture all the devastation. Here's another road. I don't even know where it is or what road it is. It's just another washed out road. There's dozens and dozens of them. And the rain is still coming down, winds are picking up. I expect a ton of downed trees, power outages, and blocked roadways. Oh and get this, now they're saying blizzard conditions on the mountains later this week - up to 100" of snow by Sunday! That also means much more rain in the flooded areas. This is just nutz.

Yep, it's like a firehose. We get a few of them each year. This is one of those that begins well SW of Hawaii, and then shoots straight at us. We call those a "pineapple express". That's also why we have all the warm temps along with the rain.
