  1. And so, this one too. Suffice to say, people LIKE the IDEA of a thread like this, but not enough to really have one. Please stop asking me to make one. It can't be forced.
  2. Yes, I remember everything on the water, but everything off the water is a blur. Wait...am I wearing pants??! Woa, that was close!
  3. Thanks guys, I appreciate the warm thoughts and kind words. I also appreciate the fact that others are going through similar family challenges. Nobody is immune to it, but knowing you're not alone helps. @Skunkmaster-k If you're referring to me as a "celebrity", thank you for the kind words, but I truly don’t consider myself a celebrity. I’m just someone who’s passionate about sharing knowledge and learning from others. The real value comes from the incredible people here on the forums and the wisdom we all bring to the table. I’m here to learn and grow alongside all of you.
  4. Welcome home! We're glad you're here.

  6. Well, he's still in the hospital and they don't know when he'll be out. He needs to be able to perform a certain level of motor skills, and he doesn't like physical therapy. Combine that with his age and....it's a struggle. He'll then be placed in a rehab center for a minimum of 3 months. Add to that, my sister's husband just got home after spending 17 days in the same hospital for his throat cancer surgery. She's taking care of him full time for the next 6 weeks, when they can remove his feeding tube. My mother passed away 2 years ago. She was the family glue. So combine all that, and you can understand why we skipped Christmas. It just felt like we would be trying to force it to happen. I don't want to be Debbie Downer, so here's hoping to better times when we can celebrate healing!
  7. No worries. I'm just ribbin' ya!
  8. Hey now, I'm the guy behind the camera on those videos. Yes we shot that video last May, to be totally transparent. It was the only time our schedules and stars lined up to shoot videos.
  9. One of the biggest narcissists I know routinely uses "poor" or "bad" cell phone reception as an excuse for his actions (or lack thereof). BM could've waited until he had perfect reception to submit the entry. Problem solved. It's not rocket science. Bassmaster and MLF provide live coverage over massive lakes now - all use cell technology. Cell coverage is good enough these days that you're not far away from a solid signal.
  10. Join Michael Neal as he breaks down how to use soft plastic jerkbaits and other top techniques to dominate cold-water fishing. From creek channels to bluff walls, this guide will show you where to find bass and how to catch them during the coldest months of the year.
  11. Tangent airlines now departing.... Keep it on topic guys.
  12. Oh it really did happen. We even went back to the spot with a metal detector when the water was down but couldn't find it. To be fair, the ring was loose to begin with. I now have a properly-sized replacement ring, but I still won't wear it while I'm fishing.
  13. Cafe Du Monde gentlemen. https://shop.cafedumonde.com/product-category/coffee/ It's good, but not strong enough for me. I mix it in with my strong coffee. Google it to find where they sell it near you, or buy it on their website. French Market Chickory is also a good chickory coffee https://frenchmarketcoffee.com/our-coffee/ Again, Google it to find a retailer near you, or try their store locator on their website.
  14. 3 1/2 months later, and no improvement whatsoever. In fact, Geno is worse and so is the O-Line. Arguably the most pathetic in the NFL. The Seahawks have no hope of ever improving as long as Geno is on the roster. Plus they must completely overhaul everything that has anything to do with the O-Line. Throw everything out - cleanse house - and start new. Glass everything. It's the only way.
  15. Bass fishing has no place for this kind of "influencer":
  16. I've caught many a bass from a canoe. I fished many undisturbed lakes as a result. I also spent a week in the Yukon territory drifting a river in a canoe, living off the land by catching arctic greyling while dodging moose and grizzlies. Does that count?
  17. Meanwhile, it's been a record-breaking warm season so far. It hit 60 degrees two days ago, and has been in the mid 50's for a month (normally it's about 42). Rainfall has been average, but in buckets when it comes instead of the steady drizzle. The bomb cyclone did a number on the area (there's still cleanup in progress), and we've had several windstorms since. Currently we're on storm 2 of 6 this week. That's bringing more rain and wind, but not colder temps. But we'll see if that changes things.
  18. From shallow bites to deep-water giants, these baits and techniques will help you catch bass no matter how cold it gets.
  19. The surgery was successful in that they were able to relieve the pressure on his nerves. There were no complications. Whether he makes a full recovery is unknown. Nerves take a long time to heal. My father is resting now. He'll spend about a week in the hospital, and then transferred to an adult care facility for 3 months of rehab and physical therapy. The dangerous part is over. Thank you so much for your healing thoughts and prayers!
