  1. Same here. I've been wanting to try it since I heard about it from their website. It'll have to be really impressive for me to completely switch away from Bass Pro's fluro. I really like their other lines, so it's definitely possible.
  2. X 1,000,000,000,000,000!
  3. Well I shouldn't tell ya Brian that I hit "the canal" this evening. Managed one largemouth about a pound and a half (MAYBE 2lbs) on a spinnerbait. I saw two other bass holding along the shore. The one was about the same size as the one I caught and the other was about a pound larger. I was throwing plastics most of the evening but had no takers there. :-?
  4. Hey Francho, Thanks for the tip! I tried the side plate again this evening and it did twist off! There was so much dirt 'n all along the frame that it kept it from coming off the way I thought it should last night. I'll give it a good cleaning and put it back together! Thanks again for everyones input!!!!
  5. One more Palomar user here with no issues on fluro, braid or mono. I just make sure I moisten the knot before I cinch it down.
  6. 3 different ones come to mind. 1st is snapping turtle on a Red Eye Shad. Hooked in the mouth as I was burning it over the top of a shallow grass bed. 2nd is a bullfrog on a Strike King SG Toad. 3rd is a bluegill that I somehow hooked in its side on a 5" Kinami Flash that I had wacky rigged.
  7. A technique I use in colder water (below 50) situations is a yo-yo retrieve. I'll launch it out there and let it fall to the bottom. Then simply work it back using the rod to move it and reel up the slack as I'm lowering the rod. Try to keep as much slack out of your line as you can when lowering the rod as they've hit the bait on the fall (at least they do for me).
  8. Thanks for the input David! I never thought to check with them! Francho, I did try twisting it (up and down) with no luck. :-/ I checked the frame out from every angle possible trying to find a latch to release it. But I will try it again when I get home (after wetting some line of course!). LOL
  9. Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply! This reel is not set up like my Accurists or the Energies I have. There's no release button/switch for the side plate which is why I'm completely baffled on this one. I have torn the "handle" side completely down to the bare frame. My initial thought was the worm gear or the pin the line guide rides on held the cover on but that's not the case. If you could check the schematics you have, that would be great and very much appreciated! Thanks!
  10. There's NO ONE better than Reel Mech in my opinion!
  11. I loke the XPS Extreme (the deep diver) and the Static Shad.
  12. Hey All, I'm trying to help out a friend. He's got a 2005 Quantum DS300CX baitcaster and its in dire need of a lube job! Problem is, I don't have a schematic for it. I guess the real issue is I'm not sure how they put the side cover (the non-handle side) on. Does anyone know where I can get a schemactic for it or can someone clue me in on how to get the side plate off? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
  13. Nice looking smallie you caught there jake! Here's a pic I posted in the tournament/outing board almost 3 weeks ago.
  14. Here's my suggestions: Obviously, the 7'6" H fast action, a 7' MH fast action, and a 6'6" M fast action spinning rod.
  15. Nice! LOL! I heard about this on the radio this morning. I hadn't had a chance to look it up. Thanks for the link!
  16. Leave it to my little brother! LOL! He probably knows that stretch of the river better than I do any more.
  17. Thanks for the input George! I'll pry it off and see what happens. Luckily, I do carry a second prop so at least if the prop is shot, I'm not off the water! Thanks again!
  18. I think I bent the prop pin on my trolling motor. I tried taking the prop off the other day but the darn thing just won't come off. And yes, I did take the prop nut off before I tried removing the prop. Do any of you have any tricks you could share with me or do I just need to pull harder? I just want to make sure I don't damage the prop before I go pulling too hard. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!
  19. Nice work mikesjet! I see you've been fishing my old home waters! I grew up in Thompsontown and fished it quite often growing up. There aren't as many spots to fish in that stretch as there used to be (especially below Thompsontown). The river is probably 2-3' lower than it used to be. :'(
  20. A lot of people seem to like the Hot Sauce. Personally, I don't. The thermal properties are not very good In My Opinion. For me, in colder temperatures, it gums up and in warmer temps it gets too thin. Other products that I have tried and use now hold up much better for me.
  21. Thanks again everyone! Welcome to THE boards zwhitey! I was out again at lunch time again today and managed to catch my first spinnerbait bass of the year! Yeah, you're definitely right! Its starting to turn on for sure!
  22. There's a few lakes that aren't too far from Rockville you can hit. Just to give you an idea, Black Hills regional park (Little Seneca Creek lake) in Germantown is hitting the spawn about the beginning of May. The link that dsaavedra posted will help you out too!
  23. Can't make it out this weekend. Black Hills is starting to turn on. Last friday I pulled a good one out of there and this friday I caught another one (fishing during lunch time only) on a spinnerbait. Never fished the areas on the Potomac that you're talking about. Good luck this weekend and let us know how you make out!!!!
  24. Great smallie! Where on the Juniata were you fishing?
  25. Welcome to THE boards!
