I got it. Just go get yourself a new Revo, and mail in for your free pair of Wiley X P-17's. I was very surprised that these were as good as they are. Way lighter and more comfy than my Oakley Shallow Blues, and you can't beat the deal.

Yeah, I use lures, mostly plastics and jigs, but I have a buddy who comes with me there once in a while, and he swears by the shiners, too. He definitely does catch them pretty good on them, but I have outfished him with his live bait. Not easy, but possible. I shoulda gone today. That one in the picture, came on a Tx rigged Falcon Rage Craw, with a 1/4oz pegged tungsten weight.

Cabin fever buster yesterday. Got 4 altogether, but this was the biggest.

Both are fantastic rods. I have both, and I can't really decide which one fishes better, but I think my favorite is the Cumara. Either way, you'll be happy.

5/0 should be fine. That's what I use for Thumpers and Anacondas, and I've never had hookup issues.

I just gagged at the thought of going back to PP from Samurai. No way! I do want to try the 832, though, but I'm more than happy with the Daiwa.

Well, I'm gonna ice fish a couple times for sure, but I think I'm going to spend more time up the Merrimack trying for smallies. I only did that a couple times last winter, but I got on quite a few, and that to me is better. It's just a little shady in my jon boat if there's any wind!

Me too! I fished a lot, but now regret those couple of times that I might have been able to go with a little more effort. Then again, I feel that way every winter.

Yes, it's very strange how life plays out sometime. It's a shame when someone that had it all going on when they were young, turns to drugs or crime, and their life goes straight into the toilet. Lost my best friend this way.
