  1. Said she is cancer free. No definitive answer because they are unable to give her an MRI. Looks like Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) caused a mini stroke. There's really nothing they can do and she's more at risk being in the hospital than out due to the COVID. She's being released this evening. We'll play it by ear for now.
  2. Snow sun snow sun today and 50mph winds. Highs in the 40's for the next 7 days with more rain than not. Picked up the boat this morning and it's loaded and ready to go.
  3. Spot lock was improved in 2016 or 2017. I have a 2014 era motor and I don't find fault with it, although I really don't use it that much. Spot lock is fine for some situations but I prefer the cruise control option when fishing in current.
  4. They used to play at the Thirsty Whale in River Grove all the time. I lived about 1/2 mile away from the bar when the band was in its heyday.
  5. Get the NAPA's They are made by Deka. I have 3 for my 36v trolling motor. I have never had to add water. Can't say that for the Everstarts I had prior.
  6. I can't imagine installing a transducer would cause a weld to crack. You have an outboard that weighs hundreds of pounds more than the transducer and produces a lot more torque stress than a transducer. That would cause a crack before a 6" long transducer.
  7. If it gets him to read a book rather than read a cell phone, it's a win win.
  8. Yes it does. No visitors because of COVID. I'm worried as well because there are cases of it in the hospital. I saw her last week and she made a comment to me that the cancer didn't kill her but now she has to worry about the virus.
  9. 80* yesterday. 70* today. Snow forecast Monday and Tuesday next week. Picking up the Predator tomorrow morning.
  10. Thanks As of now the bleeding has stopped. She is being moved from ICU to neurology. She needs a MRI of her brain but is not a candidate because of a pacemaker. They believe she has a lesion in her brain. Possibly the cancer has decided to metastasize in her brain. Only speculation right now.
  11. Mom went thru a bout with cancer last year. She's been having difficulty with her speech the past week. She's in the ER. They did a cat scan and she has bleeding on her brain. No matter which way it turns out, I just want it to happen without complications.
  12. Please...
  13. How long did it measure?
  14. Picking it up Wednesday at 11 while I'm "Working at home"
  15. Awesome
  16. I was hoping to be in another boat this spring. One more family friendly. Guess I'll just have to tell momma and grandma that I'm taking my grandson fishing alone and they can't come with.
  17. Considering the current state of affairs, I just emailed the dealer that is selling my Predator on consignment. Barring some sort of miracle, I hope to get her back this week and get back on the water shortly. Maybe next year
  18. Check with your local DNR/State regs and figure out what's open and what's closed. The reality of it is only so much can be controlled and only so much can be enforced. Push the limits, don't break the law.
  19. Was at my kids house today replacing screens in the screened in porch. A buddy of his showed up around 3. I went to the garage to cut some wood trim and come back. Kid says to me Jake was asking if you're ok. He thought I was sick. I lost 50lbs last year just giving up carbs, and this is the first time he has seen me since I lost the weight. I guess it's a compliment in a roundabout way.

  21. My son bought a house on Island Lake back in February. Has about 40ft of frontage. Spent the day replacing screens on the screen porch. Got thru about 1/2 of them. Anyway, I took a few casts with a jerkbait, didn't get anything but dead vegetation. He caught a 13" bass. His buddies were there yesterday while my son was at work and they both caught 2lb plus fish. I haven't wet a line since July because of family issues. It felt good. Fortunately for me, the house needs work. Gives me a reason to spend weekends out there. I'm giving him my 14' Lund for a housewarming gift, but will have to wait until the water warms up because the pier is also in need of repair.
