The "house" or whatever it is is in deeper water than 19.8ft. When looking at the 1st image, the bright yellow is the bottom at 19.8ft and is the top of a ridge that drops off. You determine that by the shadow. Unfortunately we can't tell if its a 5' drop or a 20' drop. Next time you're in the area, see if you can get right on top of it. Whatever it is, its man made, as what might be a gravel drive directly below it

Very true. The year I got hurt I had already started to get things lined up to go on my own. Life happens when you make other plans. My daughters boyfriend is a GC and does quite well for himself. I think our personalities have a lot to do with how successful or unsuccessful and how happy or unhappy we can be in our careers and some personalities are more prone to doing one thing rather than another. Personally, I'm not a fan of people or authority. I can't begin to tell you how unhappy I was, after my work injury, with my work situation. I spent 25 years working alone. First job I had post injury I was a project manager for a nationwide 3rd party facilities maintenance co and I ran the largest account they had which consisted of roughly 9,000 retail locations. Office had 350-450 people, most being customer service. Worked there 3 or 4 years and I hated most of it. The company was run like our government as I believe much of corporate America is. Needless to say, I bumped heads with other department managers on a regular basis. No one wants to take blame for screw ups and I was the guy who had to patch things up. Left there and went to work doing hvac tech support for a worldwide company. I couldn't deal with the micro management. Fast forward to today, I'm back to working by myself again. I run a hvac/r supply house. I make a good buck, I'm dealing with my people aka pipefitters and other tradesman. If I speak with the bosses more than a few times a year, that would be a lot. As long as I make money, they leave me be. I have girls in the corporate office at my disposal but I tend to do most of the work myself. It's my personality. I don't have much faith in people. My son followed in my fathers and sisters footsteps and became an accountant. He will be taking over the firm he works for, in the next few years, when the owner retires and will be pulling down mid to high 6 figures. I already told him he better remember who brought him into this world.

As you know I'm still in the industry only in a different capacity. My customers are mostly pipefitters around my age. A lot can't wait for retirement and I'm surprised others haven't retired already. Most will retire at 60 as long as they have enough "points" in the union to do so. Many will spend their last year or 2 of employment getting knees and shoulders replaced while they still have the insurance coverage. The average fitter only lives 5-7 years after they retire.

My boy is in his early 30's and as of June 30th of this year, with salary and bonuses, makes more money than dad. I veered him away from the trades when he was looking at colleges for no other reason than my body was shot by the time I was 40, and that was prior to me tearing my shoulder up.

Most of my rods are Fenwick. I had to warranty one because of the reel seat. I shipped it back at my expense and they shipped me a replacement. I don't recall the turnaround time but it wasn't too long.

Pellet grill. I used to do them in the oven and add liquid smoke to my marinade. Now I add real smoke. I used a dehydrator once. Borrowed it from a buddy. Was one of the cheap small ones that use a lightbulb as the heat source with a little circulating fan. That would probably suffice for dehydrating veggies but not for meat. If I recall I think it took somewhere between 12 and 24 hours. Next time you make some, I have a killer peppered jerky recipe I'll share with you.

Dr. Pepper and jalapeno is what I pulled out today. First time I made it. Good...not great. Probably better than any store bought jerky but...I like the spice to last longer than a few minutes.

I must have done something right. To be honest I made the jerky a few weeks ago. I just pulled it out of the freezer.

Both I'm probably the last person anyone should take life advice from. All my poor decisions in the past made me the man I am today, and I'm good with that. Whatever you decide to do in life, do it better than your peers. The money will follow. Never ever strive to be average.

And that is exactly what is wrong with our country. The market no longer decides what people want. We've changed from a country where the consumer develops the market to a market that develops the consumer.

I tore my rhomboid and trapezoid muscles off my shoulder blade. It was a work injury, not just old age...although old age is really hitting me now in my mid 50's. I got injured back in 2012. It was 2015 or 2016 when I had the last surgery. I was actually part of the clinical experiment of the surgery. For 3 years after the surgery I had to fill out surveys regarding my progress . Think I was roughly patient 300 in the world who had had this particular surgery, by the doctor that pioneered it. While I'm legally disabled and could collect disability, I work 50 hours a week. I've adapted my fishing to work with my shoulder. I stopped fishing bass tournaments and I have become more of a multi species fisherman.

I get a fishing calendar every year from my daughter. One year she gave me a bass fishing calendar that had a perch on the cover. Bass on ever other page.

I've had 3 surgeries on my left shoulder. 2 orthoscopic and 1 major where they went into my back. You won't be healed in 6 weeks. You'll be healed enough to go about your daily work. Possibly able to do some fishing. You should be somewhat back to normal after 90 days providing there are no other issues and you are religious doing PT, as well as home exercises your therapist gives you. Figure about a year before you are fully healed.
