  2. I have a few I've retired. They are hung up with some pictures of the bass. At some point seven years ago I went to buy some deep wee r's off the Rebel website and couldn't find any. After several emails I was informed that they and the wee r were being discontinued. I couldn't believe it. I cut my bass fishing teeth on Rebel baits in the 70's. To make a long story short I went to ebay and bought several deep wee's and wee's to fish with. While searching for them I ran across so many Rebels that I fished with for years that were no longer being made. Nostalgia took over and I made durn sure I would never run out of Rebel baits. Whenever it's my time they will live on with my boy.

  8. In 2002 I passed my first kidney stone. I passed 26 more in the next 4 years. After that I followed all restrictions and have lived kidney stone free since 2007. I passed tiny ones the last 2 years but there was none of the pain usually associated with the normal experience. The last week has been miserable. I have had a standing order for pain medication for years now and it came in handy this week. At 1:48 this morning this one greeted me. It's all of five millimeters. Back to the urologist as soon as I can get an appointment. Water, water, and more water.
  9. I usually take a year dropper and put enough clear JJ'S magic Into each bag of plastics. It lasts for quite a while and takes away the step of applying on the boat. If I do choose to dye the tails in Chartreuse I also do it at home but allow the baits to dry for as least an hour. If they are not completely dry the Chartreuse will run into the other part of the baits. There are times I use Megastrike also. It's usually around grass or waterweed to help the bait glide through more easily. It has never had an adverse reaction when teamed with JJ'S. I have no idea nor have any numbers to suggest it attracts fish. Do they hold it longer? Maybe. The one thing I do know for sure is that I'm confident when I use them. Location is king and when you team that with confidence it's what you need for success. Just my thoughts.
  10. Welcome!
  11. The hunt or fish thread got me to thinking about something me and my buddies did years ago. We used to hunt and fish a lot and a decent amount of the harvest went to the soup kitchen in Wilmington. They we're glad to have it and we we're glad to give. We lived 30 miles away deep in the swamps of Eastern North Carolina. ( Very rural) Back then there was not an interstate or four lane and the one road to Wilmington was a slow go. Going into Wilmington was a big deal and it seemed like an enormous sized city to us. The one thing that stood out was how greatfull the volunteers were for venison, dove, all kinds of fish, really almost anything. I moved off to go to college and didn't do much after that. In the early 2000's an old buddy of mine called and asked me to come home and help him a few days in his cabinet shop. In return he would take me to the sound and we would net some fish. When all was said and done and we took what we wanted there was 100+lbs. of fillets leftover. We called the "new" soup kitchen to let them know we were going to bring them some fish. They politely said they couldn't accept this per some FDA guidelines. I couldn't believe it. I have never been able to grasp the fact that they now turn away free meat. I miss those days where one simple act wasn't regulated and giving back was not discouraged. I don't hunt much anymore but I shoot a few doves and on occasion a wild boar. I take what I want and give the rest to people that would like some. Twice a year I go netting with my buddy and we give the majority to families that need or want. I will leave my personal views out as it's against the rules of the forum. BUT...it will always be silly that a place that feeds others for free can't accept wild game fresh from the field/water from private individuals. Lastly , this is truly not a pat on the back post and is entirely about 40+ years ago and how doing something you love/ loved to do was rewarding in ways that aren't acceptable today.
