  1. Night fishing is a different animal and there has been countless posts discussing techniques, times, and baits. I'm more interested in stories. Whatever you want to share I suppose. I'm usually one of maybe 10 boats and usually the last one out there. It can get a little spooky at times but it's usually uneventful. There have been a few times though that I had the fire scared out of me. I was hung up and went in to get it. About the time I was reeling down to the bait a snake dropped from a tree right beside me. I about crapped my pants. I was fishing a night tournament and was coming out of the mouth of a creek to get on plane into the main channel. It was foggy. I always idle, looked around, and out of nowhere a Black boat come flying in and missed me by a few feet. I was so rattled I fished for another half hour and loaded up and went home. I was out in late May on a nice night and had done quite well. As dawn was approaching I decided to fish ? one more spot and then head home. I was in the middle of the channel and barely saw a group of kyackers paddling towards the main channel with no lights, helmet or otherwise, not a care in the world. I was furious and they were clueless. What do y'all have?
  2. I like a creature bait or at times a jig.
  3. It's that time of year. I stock up on Jigs and terminal tackle and @Siebert Outdoors is always my go to. They not only have quality baits but the best customer service around! Thanks Mike and another order of punch rigs will be placed soon! https://photos.app.goo.gl/6mMJXUmnij6fnr596 https://photos.app.goo.gl/NSopJxEFYTY1e3Rk8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/S7fCc9mLQcFzwaiZ6
  4. Well done my friend!
  5. I would have to go with a jerkbait. I get discouraged after a while and pick up a jig or crankbait.
  6. Mega strike when I fish grass or waterweed in the swamp and JJ'S Magic in all the other places.
  7. Not a lot actually. Mechanical problems would be at or near the top. In the end though I feel very fortunate to be doing something that I love to do. In my intemperate youth I used to let every little thing irritate me but as I'm nearing 60 I simply don't sweat many things with regards to fishing. On the off chance something gets under my skin I put my rod down, go sit in the driver's seat, and look around at the beauty that's before me.
  8. Great to hear this great news!
  9. Welcome!
  10. Good synopsis Doug! @J Francho This applies: There's no such thing as having too many fishing baits and /or accessories! lol
  11. Rebel wee r. If you go in this direction send me a private message.
  12. Welcome!
  13. Prayers for his family. He was a heck of a lot of fun around here.
  14. Welcome!
  15. This question gets asked yearly and I always look forward to the replies. I suppose fishing with a pro would be great. If I had to pick one I guess I'd go with Jake Whitaker because he's semi-local. The folks I want to fish with include: 1. @A-Jay I want to go catch Small mouth at the mythical Lake Menderchunk. 2. @Catt ... Toledo Bend at night using Rebel Ringworms! 3. @WRB.. Clear Lake and watching a big bass guy! 4. @Dwight Hottle... To learn the jerkbait and catch some Smallmouth. 5. @Teal... To fish the Swamps of allover Eastern North Carolina! The above folks have freely shared so much information with this site it's unreal. They are great fisherman but more than that they are good people.
  16. Welcome!
  17. Irish Spring.....
