  1. If the water you fish is dark/stained and your rod has good guides, i would use it. It provides easier hook sets and way better strength. I personally use it only for flippin'/pitchin' cover.
  2. I always spray myself with off, apply a lot of sunscreen and catch PLENTY of fish! I sometimes wash my hands with Lindy's no scent soap. Works like a charm!
  3. I have a Falcon Cara T7 Amistad rod that i would like to modify a bit. It has the split grip rear handle and no fore grip. The cork handle under the reel seat has a slight bulge/hump that i dislike. Is it possible to sand it down without ruining it or making it look deformed? What all would i need to complete the job? I have attached a picture of the handle style of the rod. It is handle B in the picture. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98389____SearchResults
  4. Believe it or not(even in FL) a 2lb bass on my lakes in a very nice fish! There are hawgs but you have to be very precise/patient to get one!
  5. I absolutely believe this to be true! Just by fishing a few lakes in my area for the past years. As the pressure increased over the years and tournaments did to, the less fish we catch! Makes sense i guess!
  6. Man i will wear a sombrero and 80p if it means NO skin cancer!!!!!!!!!
  7. In these times, i haven't seen one in months man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. So what are you going to do when you hook a bg one and don't have the STX on!?!
  9. What's up with people giving away bass!?! Geez, catch and release or catch nothing in the future!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Just broke a BPS Crankin' Stick on a rod locker! Got a new one from BPS no probs!
  11. My wife had a garage sale a couple months back and i made almost $200 on just spare lures! I still have a room full of gear that i don't use though, LOL!!!! ;D
  12. I bet the Spro BBZ-1 shad would be perfect for those smallies!
  13. I always fish visible cover first(if available). I will usually stay far away from the areas that everyone else is pounding! Always keeping an eye on my depth finder while trying to form a basic layout of the lake in my head.
  14. The jig bite is very similar to the flippin' bite to me! Most of the time the line just feels mushy, or "alive". Hard to explain really, you just got to get a few to know what i mean!
  15. This is VERY true! They are worth more than what they are sold for IMO! It's crazy how they caught on in my area! A few people got some on Ebay and than everybody had to have them!
  16. 90% of my tackle NEVER gets used, rods, reels, lures etc! I rarely go to lakes that require using anything but a flippin' stick. Rage Shads in the a.m. and flippin' baits after that! I have shallow/deep cranks, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, topwater lures, etc, etc, etc. Most of it is brand new and waiting its turn in the water!
  17. WHAT, Never fished pads!?! Man, i catch most of my fish in pads! That's a shame cuz your gill baits catch em in the pads as well!!!!!
  18. Like many have stated already, if you catch enough big fish and weigh them, you can estimate the weight very closely. Providing you get a very good look at it that is!
  19. AWESOME BOAT MAN! I bet them DINKS are shackin now, LOL!!! ;D
  20. I would STAY AWAY from SpiderWire if i where you(SUCKS)! The line size depends a lot on the cover you are fishing! Since braid is so thin in diameter and limp, i would never use anything under 30lb line. For fishing cover like i do here in FL, i use 65lb braid!
  21. I have some of the Mattlures gills and boy do they produce around cover in FL!
  22. I just love those decision made out of desperation that turn out to be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS
  23. I have yet to use a line that made me want to put conditioner on it! And i use BPS XPS fluoro(STIFF)!
