  1. If you will be using it for both flippin/pitchin the size depends on how tall you are. I am 6' 2" so a 7' 6" rod works well for both techniques for me. You want the strongest rod you can find that is still very sensitive with a semi soft tip to detect strikes. I have tried flippin sticks from Shimano to Daiwa before i finally found the perfect one for me. It is a 7' 6" Powell Max 766H. This thing is an absolute brute yet extremely light and ultra sensitive. At $169.00 with all Fuji components and EXTRA sensitivity, it was perfect for me. BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. LOL, i thought i was going to get it too man! We actually tried Rage Tail Toads and Shads with only one missed strike! The pads/hrydrilla in the pic are in 7ft of water. I got her flippin' a 10" Berkley Power Bait worm in all black. She put up one heck of a fight too!
  3. I was absolutely amazed by this today! I was using SuperLine Gamakatsu hooks in heavy cover and i just kinda pulled up and hooked the hawg just right! Well, i ordered two spools of the FirlLine for me and my brother just now! I will post more reviews next weekend! Hope you are right about this stuff! THANKS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Yes sir, you are correct! I am brand new to braid. After loosing the fish of a lifetime with fluorocarbon i made the switch! I will try this FileLine though! Also, will braid cut into Alconite Fuji guides? THANKS
  5. Look here dodge guy, i am going to order some right now and it better be as good as you say it is!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds too good to be true! How do i know which to order? I tried FireLine Crystal once(hated it) is that the same thing?
  6. Man, i thought i was going crazy last week because i witnessed this! There was a big black/red duck swimming with like 8 little ones following in and out of bullrush fields. Then bass started attacking them and managed to take 2 down. The ducks where only about 4" long though!
  7. I just recently sold about $200 worth of lures and tackle that i never used! I just left the stuff i catch bass on and always have. If it aint broke.............................................
  8. I always use a 7-10" ribbon tail worm(vary colors) with an 1/8oz weight and 14lb fluoro for this. I will start on the weedline and breaks then proceed to pick apart the inside until i find them.
  9. VERY NICE BRO!!!! What a gut on the first one!
  10. AWESOME fish guys! I have a three day trip planned there in the fall! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. For four weekends now i have been landing hawgs! This one today went 7lb 6oz! Hope yall are catchin em too!!! http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc102/luist4498/100_0017.jpg
  12. Congrats, the world needs more men like yourself!!!!
  13. 25lb BPS XPS fluoro! Always on my worm rods and some flippin sticks!
  14. Well after a full day of fishing the Suffix and Power Pro, neither are a walk in the park! They both dig into their selves pretty bad. Both leak color all over everything. Both are a PITA when they kink and both make a horrific noise when coming through the guides! But...................i got a hit from a 7lb 6oz bass in thick pads/hydrilla and had absolutely no problems horsing it in. So, i will leave the braid on for now i guess!
  15. Extremely important to me, crucial i would say! Especially this website! There is always someone who knows more than you and willing to help.
  16. Just delet one loop http://www.thaifishingguide.com/fishtechequip/techniques/knots/triple_palomar_knot_steps.html I think i will go with this one man! The other version i saw was double the overhand knot! THANKS
  17. Also, can anyone tell me the correct way to tie a double palomar knot? I have heard three different ways so far!!!!!
  18. Man, look at the guts on those things! Nice job man!!!
  19. That little sucker got me good today! I went to BPS to exchange a broken Crankin Stick and get some braid but left with enough lures, hooks and weights to fill a new tackle box!!!
  20. Yes indeed, that and cleaning my reels!!!
  21. I hope so man! I got all the line in 65lb test! I will be fishing some serious lily pad/hydrilla mix fields tomorrow at first light!
  22. My first complaint already about both Power Pro and Suffix is that the color bleeds all over the reel and rod!!! Not cool at all!!!! >
  23. My research shows that Suffix is an 8 strand as well? Anyway, i bought a couple spools of Suffix today and a couple of Power Pro. Since my bro fishes with me most of the time, we are going to test them back to back! THANKS A LOT GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Says the DINK whisperer Hey, i have been doing good the past three weeks! Caught an 8lb, 7lb and then a 6lb! The ten is next this weekend!
