  1. I have yet to gut hook one with a Senko! I use one of my most sensitive rods and fluoro to fish them though! Sometime you will see the lure stop dropping two ft down in 5ft of water! Other times it's just a "mushy, alive" feel to the line! This is one lure that requires 110% of your concentration IMO!
  2. NO way man, just no way!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I agree with this as well! When i first used braid a few weeks ago i was expecting a HUGE change in sensitivity because of what i have heard! I found it no different than fluoro for feeling what the lure touches! It is better than mono though.
  4. You guys actually use flippin' sticks for Rage Tail and Ribbit frog type lures!?! My Powell Flippin' stick has ZERO tip so that is no fun! I use it for heaver hollow frogs like the Mann's or Spro frogs!
  5. Yup, i have both spooled on two worm rods using them back o back! I like both but Suffix is a little stronger IMO!
  6. I have a lot of the 7" ones but never really use them! I use the 10" ones more often! They produce everything from dinks to hawgs for me! I simply T-Rig them on a 3/16oz weight and throw to targets!
  7. Senkos, Flukes and jigs are my favorites!
  8. You kiddin me guy!?! Those things are deadly when fish are lock jawed! I have caught 6lb bass in the Winter with these on a Shakey head jig!
  9. I broke my BPS Crankin Stick three weeks ago with a rod locker. I actually took it into the store with no receipt and got a new one in a heavier action with NO probs! They are really good about their customer service at the stores! Online as well IMO! Just call em up and see what they say!
  10. That's what i was thinking! My bro has one for running big deep swimbaits! It is HEAVY too!
  11. Well it's not the same stuff as the old FireLine! It is better than Power Pro though! But not as good as Suffix!
  12. He hit it right on the head with this one! The BBZ is a far better lure! The action is waaaay better as well! I had some of the TT and sold them all!!
  13. Mine came yesterday actually! It happened on the lake where i have been catching 7-8lbers lately! I was exhausted and trolling my way to the dock at around 1:30pm. I had the trolling motor on auto pilot at top speed. I deciding to throw my 12" black worm out and drag it along side me just playing around really! I felt it get hung up on something and when i looked it seemed to be a lily pad! I pulled and it pulled back and ran away! I set the hook and it was indeed a bass! I immediately horsed it to the boat and it looked to be 11lb EASILY! At the boat it did a dive and caught my 25lb fluoro on the trolling motor(which is still running on auto) blade and cut the line! I almost jumped in after it guys! Big ones always hit when i am not paying attention or being stupid! I was just playing around and didn't really think anything was going to hit the worm moving that fast! Nore did i think to stop the motor!!!!!!!!!! >
  14. That looks like the spare room in my house labeled SPARE FISHING GEAR, LOL! Way to go man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Okay, i finally received the Berkley FireLine braid yesterday! I will say that i am not impressed! It is no better or worse than the Power Pro or Suffix i was using. It is significantly smaller diameter for the same lb test and a little limper than the other two. But it is also weaker and less abrasion resistant IMO. It makes the same noise coming through the guides and leaks the same(if not more) green color all over everything! I guess i am just in shock on all the negatives of braid because i am new to it! But it does give me that extra piece of mind when i hook a pig in the slop! THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!! EXCEPT for dodgeguy who made me spend even more $ on braid..............LOL, just kidding guy!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Man, i need some spare reels because my rods all multi-task but most have fluoro on them!
  17. I use the double Palomar knot for braid and it has never slipped(yet)!
  18. Sweet deal! I might be able to use my 7' 3" Falcon Cara Amistad or my Powell 7' 705C. They both have fluor on the reels though! I need some spare spools now! Anymore suggestions?
  19. Hello all! I have never had a designated rod for top water lures. I throw buzz baits and poppers with my MH/F Crankin Stick. But i need a rod to throw lures like Rage Tail shads/toads, Ribbits etc through thick lily pads and grass. What do i need to look for in a rod to do this? I may be able to use one that i already have! THANKS
  20. Man i love those family tourneys! It is usually me and my little bro against my big mouth older bro and my uncle. Sometimes friends will get in on it too! It can get pretty ugly though! i have seen car titles being put down when the trash talking starts! Anyways, awesome fish you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I would like to take you up on that! Come on down to FL and flip some hyacinth and hydrilla mixed mats with me, LOL! I use to be all about the Wal-Mart specials myself! That lasted until i got a boat and started pursuing big fish! I hooked an 8lb bass and the gears in my Shakespeare reel almost melted, LOL! More expensive reels won't make more fish bite but they will help land more once you do convince one. Personally, i buy more expensive reels/rods because of the quality and peace of mind i get from them! I can beat the crap out of them all season and then just clean them up and do it all over again the following year!
  22. For me, it is definitely worth it! It is a lot smoother and casts a lot farther as well! But my all time favorite is the STX.
  23. On the lakes i fish women are actually pretty common! I just saw one this past weekend in a HUGE bass boat(about 21ft) custom painted in pink with lightning airbrush work done. It had all black and pink painted interior. And to top it all off, she was flippin' grass mats like a pro! I almost fell in love at first site, LOL!!!!!!!!!! Welll... did you get them digits? That would be one heck of a girlfriend, no need to beg to go fish. Nope, no digits! That's too much women for me man, LOL!!!!!!!!!
  24. You got a smokin deal on the Powell man! But actually, it cost you $100 shipped............................i sold it to you, LOL!!!
  25. I am an EX-Sheriff Deputy myself! Just about every one of the guys on my team where crazy about bass fishing! I think the good officers far outweigh the bad ones but those few rotten apples give the job a bad name. But that is common in every profession i think. I myself had a hard time putting personal emotions aside and make decisions based on my job regulations! I realized this and resigned to my position!
