  1. My thoughts exactly!!!!!!!
  2. WOW, very nice for first bc man! BTW, all of my Powell rods are paired with Revo SX because they look so pretty together, LOL!
  3. My local Wal-Mart just put everything in the fishing department on clearance and now there is nothing left! Been that way since Jan this year. The Wal-Mart two towns over is loaded with everything from Berkley PowerBaits to Revo StX!
  4. Best of bot worlds, you can turn the rattles on and off! http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_102803_100005001_100000000_100005000_100-5-1
  5. Another vote for 4 1/2lb here. Either way, it is a beauty!!!!
  6. There is a certain dink that i have grown accustom to on my favorite lake. He is always in the same little patch of pads and i catch him every time i'm on that lake! On the same size and color lizard! I have even considered naming him now, LOL!
  7. Stren original for mono Trilene 100% for fluoro Power Pro for braid
  8. I have many o both but the Cordells rarely make it on my line. The traps have a way better wiggle(tighter) and rattles. I have not found a better lip less bait than the trap!
  9. Well.....................only the Chigger Craw, power worms, shaky worms, tubes and power hawgs! Oh, and the occasional Crazy legs chigger Craw and chunk! ;D
  10. My first baitcaster ever was an Abu 5000 round reel. I have since switched over to all low profile Revos. They are much more comfortable to palm and lighter as well.
  11. Makes a huge difference!!!!
  12. Hey, i was just about to say that, LOL!!!!
  13. There are some Crucial flippin sticks on there as we speak man. I have yet to see a Powell flippin' stick on there though. I will say that my previous flippin stick was a Shimano crucial 7' 6" H/F 1 piece rod. After feeling the Powell in action the Crucial went up for sale that same day!
  14. I would break out my flippin stick(Powell Max 766H), heavy line(25lb BPS XPS fluoro) and lock the drag down on my reel(Revo STX). Then i would proceed to pitch a quality 3/8oz green pumpkin jig with a green pumpkin 4" chigger Craw as a trailer. Methodically pick the entire area apart and you will be pleased. Also, you would be surprised at what a jig can go through without getting hung if you know how to work one(VERY SLOWLY). Best of luck
  15. IMO, the Powell Max 766H is hard to beat. I absolutely fell in love with mine. It is very light and extremely powerful! It can also be used to throw frogs in the slop and swimbaits as well. I now own 4 Powell Max rods. http://www.***.com/descpageRDCPOWELL-PFLR.html
  16. I am back and forth with ALX rods right now and i really like what i see! I am doing some research on the Rogue blanks he uses first. I really liked the sound of the Shimano Crucial CRC-X72H but i want split grip handle!
  17. No worries, i completely understand what you mean. I had no idea you didn't deal through PMs, sorry. I changed my mind on the Kistler as well. I am all over the place with my decisions right now, LOL! It's just that i am VERY picky and specific about my jig/worm rod. THANKS for all the help you provided though. I now know a little more about rod building.
  18. Out of those three i would pick the Revos S. It is very smooth, incredible drag system for fishing cover and the brakes are not as hard to adjust as the other Revos.
  19. BOOYAH ALL THE WAY FOR SPINNERS!!!!
  20. I tried contacting him but he seemed to not want to work with me! He said i would be better off finding a local builder to work with me! I believe he is building rods right now though. Do you build them? If you find the 4C70HF to much than it would be perfect for me. That is what i have been looking for the last 6 months or so!
  21. Try some 65lb Power pro braid! 20lb is way too small and FireLine had some breaking issues if i recall correctly!
  22. I get waaaay too many misses on top water lures in thick mats! Sometimes i use the frog to find them and then get them on a Chigger Craw! I would much rather pick apart the mat flippin and get one solid fish than watch 5 blow up on my frog and never land one! I use a Powell Max 766H flippin stick, 1-1 1/2 oz Tungsten flippin weight, 25lb BPS XPS fluorocarbon and a Gamakatsu superline hook to bully them straight into the boat! That rod is an absolute power house man!
