Ok this is what I've found John Storie originally designed Hawk Boats which went out of business and Legend bought those molds. John Storie was hired to redesign the top cap and a few other things.

Thanks for fixing the link Glenn 8-) I called Pastor David W McCraney my buddy who owns the legend I drove & fished out of. He could not recall any thing about Legends origin; he made a couple calls and nothing. Legends web site certainly does not mention any thing at all, maybe I'll email Legend.

Late Winter through April the water color on Toledo Bend is murky so I prefer Berkley Big Game in Blue which give you better contrast. Later spring and fall the water is clear so I prefer Berkley Big Game in Amber for better contrast. During summer I night fish so line color does not matter 8-)

My most productive has been Zoom's Baby Brush Hog Watermelon/Neon but recently I started using Stanley's Wedge Hog, and the bass hit it harder like their mad at it or something.

My day starts at 4 am with the exception of Sunday but I'm a night owl too. Watching a full moon crack the horizon, the distant hum of an outboard, the lonely cry of a whip-o-will, a pair of hoot owls talking, the smell of a fire place going out, and then to finish it all off a glorious day break.

The only time wind affects my fishing is when it's above 20 mph regardless of direction.

The best two days of fishing is the day before you get there and the day after you leave. I believe that barometric pressure, moon phase, atmospheric temperature, wind direction, water temperature all has an effect on bass. However do not let them control when I go fishing, I go when the opportunity arises. I adjust my fishing location, lure selection, and technique accordingly. To answer your question on should you buy a barometer NO, watch the weather channel prior to going, and learn to deal with Mother Nature

When trying to imitate a crawfishes movements it helps to know how a real one moves. When unalarmed a crawfish walks around on its little legs like any creature, it's capable of moving forward, backwards, and sideways. Once frightened it will flick its tail lifting itself upwards and backwards rather quickly, it will do this 3 or 4 times covering a distance of only 5 to 6'. Once back on the bottom the crawfish will return to its defensive posture of claws up warning other creature not to approach. Since a bass is a predator its instincts tells it to strike the crawfish on the fall or to strike while the crawfish is on the bottom before it can make its next jump/hop. That is why you should pay close attention to your jig/craw worms initial fall, the bass believes it has caught the crawfish off guard.

I'm no marine biologist but I am a Cajun from Southwest Louisiana and have seen a crawfish or two in the wild as well as in purge (2,000 gallon) tanks on crawfish farms. We eat a lot of crawfish which are bought in 35# sacks and the majority does in fact have small claws. Jomatty asked about fishing jigs with craw worms that have large claws and I stand by the answer given above which imitates natural crawfish movements. As far this person stating his bass would not hit jigs tipped with craws that had claws that would float, he is talking about bass in his house. A 150 gallon aquarium is not a natural environment for the bass or the crawfish and given stimuli one can condition certain reactions from the bass or the crawfish. While a crawfish will take a defensive posture towards a bass they are not fighters, they are simply bluffing, and their defense is to flee. Once the crawfish tries to flee the bass will attack inhaling its prey. What one wants to imitate with a jig or Texas rig is the crawfishes fleeing movements with short fast hops.

Let's examine the jig or plastic craw at rest, the claws should be in the defensive position when the bass see it. Next thing you do is to more it (shake/short hop) causing the claws to move downward, when it stops and before the claws can return to the defensive position the bass will strike. All natural movements! MaxumBass, to stop the claws from grabbing weed spray it with an attractant, not for scent purposes but as a lubricant.

A little history lesson The Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight is one of the finest pump shotguns ever built it was used in Vietnam by U.S. tunnel rats (ask your daddy to explain). You could shot it single handed with 00 buck shot magnum loads that's why it was chosen, it was later replaced by the Remington 870 another light shotgun. The Model 37 is an excellent choice for duck hunting since it ejects the spent shells downward into the blind instead of outward and onto the ground where the ducks can see them. Tommy T.

I use a 5.8:1 gear ratio when fishing Jigs or Texas Rigs in deep water but then again I don't fish fast. 8-)
