  1. A straight tail worm will go through grass easier than a curl tail worm (supposedly). Rigs: every imagined set-up On Toledo Bend this is the #1 worm far Wacky Rigging or Texas Rigged with a nail in the tail instead of a bullet weight.
  2. This was my car it's a 69 Hurst Olds Cutlass it came stock with a 350 cubic inch 350 hp and a 4 speed on the floor. I bored it .060 over, 12.5 to 1 compression TRW pistons, full stroke Iskenderian cam, Elderbrock tarantula high rise manifold, Holley (2 ea.) 1180, Hooker Headers, Borg Warner T10 4/speedd transmission, Hurst Mystery sifter with lock out reverse, Borg/Beck clutch & pressure plate, and a 3.90 ratio rear end. The car was classified as a B/Modified Production on the strip at 10.19 @ 132.40 mph, totally street legal and I drove to work daily.
  3. Some one once asked Tom Mann why he made so many different colors baits, he replied to catch the fisherman! A fish has never bought single bait! Take plastics anyone remember when motor oil was #1 or black grape or red shed or tequila sunrise or fire & ice and so on.
  4. E-Tech 2-stroke Faster hole shot Faster top end
  5. After posting this I realized all the boats I've built were .100 gauge and I don't want additional weight. Cutting aluminum is no harder to cut than plywood, welded instead of screws, carpet is easy to glue like wood. Do any of y'all use a jack up/set back plate on the motor?
  6. How y'all are 8-) Jump right in
  7. I use attractants for two purposes first as a lubricant because I fish in grass a lot and the attractant helps my plastic baits slide through easier. Second I add anise oil to mask any scent my bait may have picked up from me or anything else.
  8. Just out of curiosity why does it seem every one here insist on using plywood for decks when aluminum is lighter, more durable, maintenance free, no required sub structure, and many others advantages.
  9. The new motor guides are better than the old motor guides but they still haven't caught up with Minn Kota.
  10. Muddy keep practicing you will get better, I can cast and undo brassiere snaps in the dark 8-) just not at the same time!
  11. Do you know the name brand of the trailer?

90% of the time I use a 1/2 oz spinner baits and 90% of the time I slow roll it 8-)
  13. Most people think of a craw worm as strictly a jig trailer but when used on a Texas Rig they are quite deadly. Craw worms are probably the most over looked bait available to an angler yet it more closely resembles natural food than most.
  14. Six of the top 15 Pros use Minn Kota the other nine are paid not to

Actually Bill Lewis makes an LSU Rat-L-Trap in Purple & Gold that is killer in salt water for bull reds. The hottest color in plastics for big speckle trout all along the Gulf coast is LSU, purple with a chartreuse tail. All 12 colors are top sellers without the team logo on the side 8-)
  16. My experience is confined strictly to Toledo Bend Reservoir not a river so you can take it far what it's worth. I night fish from April through October and have on occasion night fished in November. I normally fish the same areas fished during the day with one exception; night lighted areas. Lighted docks, lighted boat ramps, a row of camps with lights along the bank or a single camp with a light near the water. Contrast is more important by far than color at night. If you fish water where shad or minnows are the predominate prey species, then try white spinners with a white grub. The usual night time favorite black is the second choice in shad populated lakes. Black or dark hued lures give maximum contrast at night when run on or near the surface. Under water vision for the bass is reduced at night, so use lures that are a little larger. Slow retrieves work better because it lets the bass locate the lure easier and zero in on it. Shallow verses deep water: I have not noticed a distinct advantage one way or the other. I will normally fish both areas thoroughly staying with the one that produces the best results. However shallow water does offer a greater opportunity to use different baits.
  17. I thought we were talking fishing not spectrums?
  18. The bass could have simply been on a morning bite 8-) I always say about the time you think you have them figured out, they prove you don't! :'(
