speed fishing or finesse
I can't vote due to the fact you've only given two choices when in reality there are three 1. Run & Gun 2. Sit & Play 3. Both of the above I may sit anchored on deep water structure playing the waiting game or I may use the trolling motor to work than same structure. During pre-spawn I'll work a mile of shoreline back and forth all day, this is a spot, but yet I'm accentually running & gunning.

Determination or versatility?
Learning to fish a jig is simple; learning to feel a jig bite is not! Learn to weigh your bait. Explanation: if you can go to a swimming pool, pond, or creek any where the water is clear enough to see your bait on the bottom in 5 to 10 of water. First pitch your bait about 10 to 15 yards on the ground, close your eyes a shake or hop the bait. Feel what that bait feels like in no water (I mean really learn it). Then pitch it out in the water, close your eyes a shake or hop the bait. Feel what that bait feels like in water (I mean really learn it). Now you are probably asking yourself what does this have to do with feeling a fish bite. Well if your bait feels any different than this, drop the rod, reel the slack, & set the hook!

Running & Gunning vs. Taking your sweet time
It's hard to complain when you fishing in some one else's boat! In the sport of fishing the wide array of techniques that will produce is why it is so appealing to so many. Some people are run & gunners Some are stay & players It's all good 8-)

Check out these lures. Made from real food.
Bob Sealy was giving them out at the McDonalds Big Bass Splash while I didn't try them during the tournament I did about a week later. They were the 5 food stick (senko type) and produce very well before I ran out. No one in my area sells them and I forgot about them until now.

Pre-Spawn
No one else gearing up for pre-spawn?
-
Determination or versatility?
Was the jig/senko the wrong bait? Was it the wrong color? Were you in the wrong area? Were you working it wrong? Maybe the bass simply were not biting? How long do you stay with particular bait? There is no correct answer! The odds of getting bit during the winter are the absolute lowest of any season making it harder to learn any new bait.

And the survey says...
Bravo Mr. Tilson This same rule applies far most major corporations, I worked for Northrop/Grumman during orientation it was explained to new hires, and we were asked if we understood it and then signed legal forms stating we understood it. Violation of this rule meant immediate termination no questions asked. My wife has worked for Ma Bell for 35 years and this has been in effect the entire time, Bell South employees can't be drunk in public, use profanities in public, or be late on paying their phone bill. It is not that you can't say any thing; it's saying you must use proper channels and the news media is not the proper channels. The legal ramifications associated with any large corporation are mind boggling to the average person. Just like what was stated earlier you done have to participate.

Jon boat rebuild question
That is an Alweld 1652 V-Nose Modified V bottom with a tunnel Here are the specs: Length: 16' Bottom: 52 Beam: 72 Sides: 22 Thickness: .100 Weight: 400 lbs Motor: Tohatsu 40 hp 2-stroke, 3 cylinders, 3 carburetors, 11 x 15 stainless steel prop There is floatation under the rear seat and with .100 aluminum bolting the pedestal base is no problem. This boat was already carpeted but if it were not I would have welded the bases. The trolling motor bracket is custom built from .125 aluminum, welded in place, and the trolling motor is bolted with lock nuts. I also moved the depth finder from the left side (in the picture) to the right side and kicked the font size up to large so it would be easier to read will running.

Jon boat rebuild question
I spent 15 years as a Manufacturing Engineer in a fabrication center in the Aerospace Industry so I know a little some thing about metals. Down here in the South you could not sell a riveted boat period because even if properly installed a rivet will work it's self loose. Welding aluminum is not that difficult and is probably easier to weld than most metals so I don't understand why you were told other wise. Now do any of y'all use jack up/set back plates on your rigs? I'll try to get some pictures! These plates lift your motor off the transom and move it backwards giving you faster hole shots and faster top end. It also allows you to run in shallower water, get on plane in shallower water; smoothes out you ride, and gives better control. Oh yea Peter that's one fine rig there, I do my back decks the same way but I install three seat bases on them. The center one for fishing and the outer two for running, see pic below. Thomas alumacraft modified Vs are excellent and a yamahammer sweet

I Hate BPS
The Mom & Pop stores are in no way exempt from blame here, they pay at best minimum wage, offer little or no benefits, and while the may not hire illegal's they will hire high school kids keeping them part time avoiding having to offer any compensations. Then we get into the discussion of the Mom & Pop stores can't afford to offer wages & benefits the large corporations do yet they will hire 2 or 3 kids instead of an adult who needs to support a family. Why? Far the Mom & Pop stores and the corporations it's all about the all mighty dollar.

A pair just under 9 pounds on a Gene Larew 7 ½ Salty Ring Worm in Cinnamon Pepper Neon/June Bug Laminated (Camouflage).

Are Bass Territorial?
I not sure about exact distance but this year Toledo Bend dropped 11' below normal meaning areas that were 10' deep you could walk around kicking dust.
