For plastics the diameter of an Ole Monster & larger I perfer a offset round bend over straight shanks. I know straight shanks work fine with punch baits but most punch baits are short. With longer worms the offset puts the hook point farther back. With the Tak-offset I can Texpose. Why did I start using it? Yamamoto 10” Ichi Worm

@Koz The best "fast food" around here is Mom-n-Pop owed stores. one I frequent is Cajun Fast Mart. Excellent breakfast sandwiches made from scratch. Lunch there's brisket sandwiches made from brisket they smoke in house. They have more hunting & fishing equipment than most Academys.

When a Palomar knot is properly tied one should be able to manipulate the length of the tag end. If tied properly you should be able to hold the tag end & main line between your thumb & fore finger & the lure in your other hand. The knot should slide down to the eye with NO resistance.

And you should have already set hook. Feeling a worm/jig bite requires keeping a certain amount of tension on your line while at the same time keeping a certain amount of slackness in your line.

Was the end of your line curled? If it was that's sign your knot slipped. If your line simply broke it would be straight.
