  1. I thought about using yellow or red line, but I'm kind of leery. Although you do see people using it...
  2. I use 12 pound vanish on my spinning rod that I use for wacky rigged senko's. I use 12 because of the spots I throw my bait ( weeds, laydowns, stumps, anywhere!!!!)
  3. That was horrible. I almost threw up. I wish our country had an eye for an eye law when it comes to abuse or similar crimes, she doesn't deserve jail, she should get beaten to within inches of her life. scumbag...
  4. It's a bad urge I get all the time, but a couple hours on the water usually satisfies my craving for a couple days, But living in PA these winters drive me nuts.
  5. sounds like a good day. It was 70 here in PA Saturday, but I went riding my quad (shoulda went fishing). It's supposed to be low 40's all week here, maybe I'll get out next week...
  6. I don't know what it is about being on a lake. I feel the same way. There's nothing that can calm you like sitting on a boat in a beautiful place. It's a great stress reliever. Just the quietness and the surroundings is amazing.
  7. meal worms (floated under a bobber), or small minnows weightless
  8. you also have to remember these guys are fishing many lakes. Also what works in one section of a lake, might not work in a different section. Sometimes the difference in catching a fish is changing a bait to something that is one or two shades different than what they are using.
  9. before you do mods, remember the center of gravity will be different, and it could make the boat very unstable.
  10. I have a tracker 14' x32" and it's very wobbly (even when I'm in it alone). I won't stand in it. If you do buy a Jon boat, Try to get the widest one available.
  11. i got mine, and I live alone, so it was quick and easy.
  12. March in PA is crazy sometimes too. It was 70 degrees yesterday and it's supposed to be upper 30's all week. At least snow melts...
  13. pretty neat article. I think more fisherman should know about where their gear was invented, kinda like Thomas Edison and the light bulb...
  14. whatever the cause, its the operators fault. Reels just don't do that by themselves...
  15. don't waste your money. Just do some research and you can find out what general colors work in different types of water. Sometimes, color doesn't matter much at all , sometimes it's a difference of a shade or two.
  16. The color combos are endless, and if you like garlic, You'll love the smell of it.
  17. watermelon senko wacky rigged. any time, all the time always works for me.
  18. I have been using spinning reels for 16 years. The only other reels I used before that were the zebco reels every kid learns to fish on. I have a baitcaster reel, But am much more comfortable with spinning reels. I know baitcasters are primarily used, but if you saw someone only using spinning reels, would you think it's weird or not "popular" by bass fishing standards?
  19. I was looking at buying these, but didn't yet. There are so many topwater lure choices, if you bought half of them, you'd be broke. I usually use poppers or frogs, but I saw these and definitely will try them soon, and as posted earlier, they do recommend big hooks
  20. when people ask how to fish any crank bait, I always say to make it hit bottom, smash submerged structure, pull through weeds, any contact with any structure is great. Most times it will trigger a reaction strike.
  21. i just thought the name of this post was hysterical...
  22. sorry, That does sound pretty bad, but keep your head up, things will get better, and remember, someone else always has it worse than you.
  23. I used to catch minnows and crayfish that way. I still do if I want a little live bait or a crayfish. Good post though, thinking outside the box could be helpful in many life situations.
  24. that sucks. I actually shut a door on my one rod. I know the feeling
  25. she has reverse anorexia, i think
