  1. P-Line Fluorocarbon = 100% Fluorocarbon P-Line CX Prem = Fluorocarbon Coated P-Line CXX = Xtra Strong Fluorocarbon Coated I don't see this info listed anywhere. As far as I knew, CXX is simply a copolymer, not a FC coated line. Could be wrong, but it doesn't "act" like a FC coated line. You are correct J Francho, CXX is a copolymer.
  2. sqhertz, The CXX is very heavy and stiff unless you drop to the lower # lines. You should try the CX prem, I think you would like it. ill give it a shot. im not sure if it was the small spool size or what , but that cxx line sucks on spinning reels imo. is it a night and day difference between the two? There is a BIG difference between CXX and CX prem.
  3. sqhertz, The CXX is very heavy and stiff unless you drop to the lower # lines. You should try the CX prem, I think you would like it. x2, I use 6# CX on my Spinning rig. Very good line. I also use the 6# CX prem on my light spinning gear and it rocks.

  5. Nice looking fish and great fishing hole.

  7. I use P-Line CX Prem 12# Moss Green on most of my baitcast setups and really like the line.
  8. I have one and I like it plus it includes the line stripper.
  9. I held the BPS CarbonLite Trigger Rod and CarbonLite reel today at BPS in TX. The 7' rods felt pretty good for a $99 rod. I can't find out the actual weight but its VERY light. Felt like no more than 6 or 7 oz. The CarbonLite reel is only 6.7 oz and looks more like their ProQualifer reel and has the same features including dual (Centrifugal & Mag) brakes. It felt really good for a $179 combo.
  10. But will they hit grandpa's old jock strap ? ;D
  11. Caught 2 on Christmas Eve on a rattle bait. Water temp was 44.6 X10, the rat-l-traps still seem to work everyday and the air temp is in the upper 30's and low 40's. The larger 1/2 oz traps work best. I even threw a 1 oz rat-l-trap and caught a 2# LMB on it. That lure is big.
  12. I wouldn't say its a "factory tune" type of deal, but no reel fits so perfectly on a Zillion rod as a Zillion reel. The reel seat was designed with palming the reel in mind, and its place so that it is well balanced as well. Same is true for the Daiwa Steez Rod and Reel combo.
  13. Im not for or against BPS reels so please dont bash me. I used to own a BPS Morris Signature Series and still own 1 ProQualifier. Their products are ok for the money but they are proprietiary and you never know who is actually making the reel and you can usually find an equal or better quality reel made by a reel company for close to the same $$$. I dont think RW is bashing BPS products, in fact he was defending BPS in another post earlier today.
  14. Steezy, You live in Texas man. You have Lake Fork, Toledo Bend, Lake Amistad, Sam Rayburn etc. Why would you want to move here? ;D ;D Yea but I lived in FL a few years ago and you cant beat the year round weather in central and south FL. In Texas we have 2 temps, Hot as hell and Cold as Ice.
  15. awesome fish ! dang I wanna go to Florida now.
  16. Nice fish ! (I gotta retire in Florida)
  17. I tried that 1 time and quickly disassembled it cause it felt too good.
  18. That's actually allowed ! Especially since theres no steez 1000 spinning reel.
  19. :-X :-X :-X Sure and I won angler of the year !
  20. A Core 50 MG feels great and is well balanced on a Shimano Cumara and even better on a Loomis GLX MBR842/843.
  21. The core 50 mg is a very nice reel and I own several of them but come'on, the steez is smoother and NO rattles. If shimano would just eliminate the the handle play/rattle in the core 50 I might rate it as high as the steez. But don't listen to me, I'm Steezy.
  22. X2, Having used the GLX and Cumara, a GLX beats the Cumara but if a gl3 the Cumara would be best.
  23. 1 rod & reel that can handle different lures along with a very small box of tackle. I also have a backup/spare combo in the truck in case something gets fouled.
  24. I was in Bass Pro Shops yesterday and they have their Johnny Morris Signature Series Spinning Reel on sale for $69 (JM1000,2000,4000). Its being replaced by a newer model.
  25. I sure if Lucky Craft Man says the BCR893 GLX is right for your Core 50 setup then its perfect. However, I wish I could put my MBR842 GLX with a Core 50 in your hand. After 1 cast I would probably have to fight you to get it back.
