  1. Com'on Long Mike lets get that online list updated of who has registered and paid so we can start to see who will be attending the roadtrip. 8-) 8-) 8-)
  2. Wow ... $256 for the Core100MgFV?? Where you get a deal like that, please do share! ;D I have two of them and like it very much. The power handle, the 7:1 gear ratio and the light weight works great on my Steez flipping stick!! But ... I am a fan of the Shimano reels. Though I did buy a couple of Steez reels, I think the Core reels fishes better, IMHO! "buy a couple of Steez reels, I think the Core reels fishes better" What ???? In that case you should trade me 1 of your Steez reels for the core 50 mg I have posted in the flea market. I'd hate for you to use something you don't like.
  3. Ive owned 3 Loomis rods (now own 2), all GLX's. I broke 1 of them, my fault snapped the tip off mishandling it. I didn't hesitate to use the Xpeditor service and pay $50 to get a new replacement GLX, after all it was a $350 rod. If it had snapped while fishing I might have a different opinion but even then I probably would have used the Xpeditor service and paid the $50 for a new rod since I would have had to pay $20 anyway to send the broken rod back to loomis, why gamble and risk losing the $20 when you can pay another $30 and guarantee to get a new rod. I understand that people are upset about the uncertain terms and conditions of the warranty but most companies will rule in their favor on a warranty issue. Its the age of the bean counter and accountants now rule most companies. In my opinion, the G.Loomis GLX rod is one of the best off the shelf production rods made (if they offered a split grip, all my rods would be GLX's), I will probably buy more in the future.
  4. Robert, Im glad that Matt finally finished your rod so he can concentrate on mine (whenever my blank arrives from NFC). Cant wait to get it and post some pics. I very happy to see you have a Steez riding on that custom stick!
  5. Theres NO color on my cumara, the rod is all dark gray w/black grips, boring looks but it is a good rod. The Steez Fle-X-Lite series are beautiful rods for a non-custom.
  6. The bean counters must be running Daiwa now. They are selling rods and reels direct on their website. Seemed like something was going on when BPS and Cabelas cut back on the amount of high end Daiwa gear they stock.
  7. Thats a sweet deal on those Steez fleXlite rods. I own the 6'5" ML Reaction and 7' Med Reaction for crankbaits & rat-L-traps and they are awesome. That 7'2" MH Reaction for $299 is begging for me to buy it.
  8. If your warranty claim is denied, I assume you can request your rod back (since it is in fact still your rod). At that point, what prevents you from then using the Xpediter Service? How are they able to track whether it is the same rod or not that was denied? It just blows my mind that this is the policy. Loomis will probably return it but will make you pay the shipping so now you will have paid for shipping twice. Total cost is now approaching the $50 Xpeditor fee. Is everyone getting the picture? I'm not going to bad mouth Loomis (they have always treated me fair) but it appears that everything pushes you to the Xpeditor warranty service.
  9. Just checked the BPS website and that $69 price is gone on most of them, only the 6'6" are still at the low price. Should have grabbed one of those 7'6" heavy xfast for 2oz swimbaits for $69, now its $99.
  10. I dont think its fair to trash Loomis over 1 rod issue, no companies policies are perfect. I would not hesitate to spend up to $400 on another Loomis GLX. They are one of the best rods in the world, their warranty is excellent and until you own a GLX you will never understand its value. BTW, Im with NOVA Angler on this one, has Loomis denied replacing the rod for $50 through the xpeditor service? FYI, I do not endorse Shimano, I prefer Daiwa Steez.
  11. I've broken 2 GLX's, 1 was my fault and 1 was probably a defect, it snapped near the top grip. Both times I just paid the $50 for a no questions asked replacement. FYI, if you break a steez, you can take it to any BPS and get it replaced over the counter, FREE.
  12. TW, rocks ! Hey larry did you remember to ask the sales rep to throw in a free rod sock ?
  13. The new Carbonlite reel is basically a lighter version of the Pro Qualifer, 2 oz less weight and has the same features (dual brakes) of the PQ reel. Downside is its only available in 6.4:1 ratio and costs $119 but it feels much lighter than the PQ.
  14. I own the 7' Med Reaction rod and I think its a good rod for the money. Only reason Im selling mine is to buy the new Shimano rod.
  15. BPS Pro qualifer, I'll sell you one for $45 shipped to your door.
  16. I buy a mostly online but 99% of the time I touch the exact model rod first, either at a store or with someone that owns one.
  17. In terms of weight, it ranks close to a Steez maybe even a bit lighter and its as expensive as some Steez models. I'd like to try one but I wish Shimano would have made a more refined looking grip and end cap, that one looks cheap compared to the existing cumara and the steez. I also hope its a better reel seat design than the cumara, that reel seat works fine but it looks cheesy. Have you weighed your Steez rods, and compared them to the published weights of the Cumulus? Have you held these rods? You make it sound as though you've had them in your hands, which I doubt. It looks as though they are a tiny bit lighter, and that's probably due to NOT using all the bling you guys are asking for.... Yes, I have weighed several of my Steez and compared it to the weights of the Cumulus rods and that is why I said the Cumulus may be a bit lighter. I also said I would like to try one so Im not sure what part of my post sounded like I had touched one.

  19. There are 2 models of the cumara, casting and reaction. Which model are you asking about? I have the 7' Med Reaction and its a really nice rod for the price for shallow cranks & rat-L-traps. I have other rods I like better for the same lures so I posted it forsale for $175.
  20. Here some info I found on the internet, I think it was posted by bantam1. Pricey for a Shimano Bass rod. Lightweight, 3.5 oz for the 7'1" rod. Are they going after the Steez market ?
  21. Shimano Cumara 7' Med or G.Loomis GLX 7' Med
  22. Not being able to stop. I will fish in the dark and in 20 degree weather for hours just to catch a single 2# fish.
