Fantasy Fishing
Don't forget to get your picks in! Most of these guys don't have much history on Ross Barnett so it should be a fun one.

$200 Budget, 2 cheaper combos or 1 good combo?
With that budget, one good combo. You don't have to spend the whole $200 but I wouldn't try to stretch it to two combos.

Daiwa J Dream
Lipless, bladed jigs, sq bills and spinnerbaits mostly. It really shines with cast and retrieve baits because it's so smooth and fun to cast and reel.

Daiwa J Dream
I've get a 6.3, it is easily one of my favorite reels to fish with and I have many. I don't have a 103 but you can't really go wrong with a J-Dream.

braid and leader for crankbaits?
It will work but would be better suited for straight mono instead of braid. You want a little give in a crankbait rod, braid has no give and a MH F rod doesn't offer much give.

Is a Tour KVD Crankin' Rod Any Good?
It looks like everyone offering an opinion on these rods all prefer graphite cranking rods. Nothing wrong with that. If a person who liked glass rods used one of these rods, they would probably give a more favorable review. My point is, OP needs figure out if he likes glass or graphite for cranking. I do like glass for cranking but have never used one these rods.

Swim Jig Preference
Same for me. I normally fish the northern/bullet style with a lighter hook, thinner skirt and a grub trailer. Brovarney makes a great one. Occasionally I will fish the California style as a bigger presentation. I use a fuller skirt, heavier head and normally a larger swimbait style trailer. I really like the Warbait jigs and Big Hammer trailers.

Ready for my next United Airlines Flight
It's still a choice. He could have flown business, driven, taken a bus or a train, etc. I agree with you, the whole situation sucks but in the end, the dude should have gotten off the plane under his own power. I would have been mad too and I would've gotten everything I could from the airline in return for the inconvenience. Also, this really should have been handled before anyone boarded the plane.

Ready for my next United Airlines Flight
For me, the bottom line is you agree to this when you buy the ticket. Yeah it sucks but that's life. Dude should have gotten his butt out of his seat and off the plane, like the other 3 people did. Also, it wasn't the airline that drug him off the plane, it was the local (airport) police. When you act like a child, sometimes you get treated like one.

Skipgap Hooks
They are good hooks and they do help keep baits pinned better than regular ewg's. I don't use them with everything but they definitely have their place in my tackle box.

Fantasy Fishing
Don't get me wrong, I miss Zona too. I like when all 3 are calling the action.

Fantasy Fishing
Man, Davy is such a great addition to Live. Not sure where Zona is though.

That area is getting pounded with storms today. I imagine it will effect the first day or 2 of practice, especially guys looking for bed fish.

Rod Build for Charity
Beautiful work! I've never seen cork finished like that, it looks great! I am going to try this myself.
-
New Build / Combo
I like that handle design. Sometimes that style can look sort of "tacky" or "JDM knockoffish," but I really like this and it looks like it would be comfortable to hold and cast. Your guy does nice work.

Good luck fellas! I went with: Keith Combs Mike Iaconelli Brett Hite Brent Ehrler Skylar Hamilton

Ned rig with a baitcaster
Should work fine, especially since a ned set up is much more aerodynamic than a Shad Rap.

Remington Class Action Suit
60 Minutes did a piece on a family who lost a son and their other son was sent to prison for murdering his little brother. Turns out Remington's trigger was to blame for the accident, they knew the guns had this problem and basically did nothing about it. Sad story.

Well, we're going to be in the 70's and 80's this week and next. I will gladly trade places with one of you for a couple of weeks.

Show off your Stuff
Yeah, it's pretty bad. I don't require my baits to be pretty but I do like them to have straight hardware. I wouldn't think you could twist a line tie on a cured resin bait very much without it breaking. As sloppy as they are they do catch fish.

Show off your Stuff
Great bait, I just wish quality control was a tad better. Make sure the line tie is straight and centered, I've had a couple that weren't.

Line for deep diving cranks, 3/8-1/2oz jigs, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits
I 2nd this.
