If you're simply trying to go the cheapest route, you could probably buy a spool for one of your existing Shimano reels. If you want to buy a new reel, I would look at the Aldebaran BFS XG Limited or a Daiwa SS Air, both for right around $300 NIB, after shipping.

Old School Baits used to be Lee Sisson's private label baits sold on his website. The owner of PH Custom Lures bought the original machines and blanks from Lee Sisson and now sells them under the Old School brand. They aren't tank tested like PH Custom baits and I think the painting process is different. They are also half the price. I have a bunch of these baits that I purchased from Lee Sisson several years ago. The ones I have are well made and fish great. I just read an article about PH Customs a few weeks ago, that's the reason I know about this.

So it looks like they've moved the Mag up to the original price point of the KLX, the KLX also started out only available online through Kistler. IMO, the NFC blank is definitely an upgrade for the Magnesium line. I also noticed they are bringing the Argon back. The originals were great rods.

The palming has nothing to do with size, it's the shape that makes the difference. Like everyone has said, the E's are great reels and most of us own a few. I'm also a big fan of the Curado 100D.

According to the specs, the MH should do what you want it to. Sometimes it's hard to judge with glass though. At least the blank is cheap so you can build another one if this one isn't exactly what you want.

One of my favorites is one 00Mod recommended, Henry McKenna Single Barrel Bottled in Bond. It's only about $30 a bottle and really, really good. I also like plain old Makers Mark. It's a great cheaper bourbon that I don't get aggravated over people mixing with Coke.

They are great reels and I have a few. That said, I like the I series better. To me, the I palms better and has a better connected feel than the previous versions. It's probably going to be hard to find a new 200E.

Freezing guides and leader knots are the 2 things I think interfere with micro guides the most. You should be fine on the freezing part and a well tied Alberto knot will pass through all but the smallest guides.
