I think fish get accustomed to boat traffic pretty quickly, especially on busier lakes. I don't think it makes much difference on public waters.

I change all my line tie split rings over to oval rings. I hate tying to round split rings.

I believe it's used for bait fishing. If you set your rod out and leave it, you can hear when a fish is taking off with your bait. Not very useful for bass fishing with artificial baits.

That's a great swimjig color. I normally use a black or green pumpkin with some chartreuse if the water is real dark but shad patterns are great for most scenarios.
