You can always go ahead and reel it in and get the nest out later if you need to ( I would think anyway)

Fishing burn out?
Does anyone think they will ever get burned out on fishing some day? I don't think I ever could but maybe not catching enough fish might do it.

Maybe the tittle of this thread ought to have " Mook Qualifications " or " Mook Resumes" added to it! LOL

Moving South ?
I figured that if you were from Mexico at one point that Nashville heat would be no big deal. Fig'd Chicago cold would be the problem

Mary Delgado arrested!
Before you meet her you might want to work on your boxing defense first! In case she packs a big punch you might need to polish up on the right cross as well LOL joking obviously the violence thing is a no go Byron did the right thing. If he retaliated it would have been bye bye tv career for sure

faster than a Lamborghini Gallardo
It's not pretty but its not that ugly. For $200,00 it is too ugly though Then again at these gas rices it might pay for itself in oh lets say 6 months? LOL

Indiana college Basketball fans
If there are any of you on the boards I might have a tidbit about next year for you A HS senior from my town just signed with IU for next year. He is the best shooter I've ever watched in person. I've never seen someone shoot so well. I've never seen someone shoot from as far away as he does, it doesn't seem to matter much on how far away he is. I think he could shoot 30% from half court with tight presure! LOL This kid is worth every penny of a HS ticket heck he is worth college or pro prices ( with HS defense on him). He seems like a good kid from a nice family so you shouldn't have any problems there. He will make Eric Gordon better by taking some heat off of him and vice versa with Gordon. College defenses will be a whole diff set of challenges but time will tell. if IL could have kept Gordon, This kid ( Matt Roth ) and Gavin Scheyer ( now with Duke ) oh the Illini would be set. These and some other issues might be the start of Weber's future? I've been wrong before ( see my Illini football corrected / eat crow post)

Favorite Screw-ups
1) fishing from the bank, by myself, in the dark, in November - slippery rock say no more Luckily ( last year ) it was still relatively mild for Nov 2) drove 40 mi's to the big lake only to find the gas motor was 40 mi's back in the garage due to the trolling / no gas motor only lake non fishing related 1) went across Norther border to a Wisconsin famous cheese tasting shop. Wanted to try the 40yr old aged cheese or whatever it was. Got tired of waiting 20mins for Luigi the knife guy to cut a sliver, sunk my finger nail into said cheese only to look up and see the knife weilding chef so ticked that his eyes were as red as a 3 day drunk's glaring at me Man was I a dummy on this one not sure what was goig through my head! LOL Should have brought this up before heck I would have been a Mook club member a long time ago! 2) while assembling a piece of the "put it together yourself" furniture I figured "ok not going to *****-foot this one for a change" while beating the stupid piece of wood into the hole that didn't fit well. Trouble was I forgot about the egual and opposite reaction physics lesson . The other end of the furniture was on my fairly newish tile floor! The wife didn't exactly see it my way! LOL hey was in the laundry room so not a major deal.

Fighting Illini ranked? I stand corrected
Time to eat crow and apologize to the sportswriter on this one. RW you hit it right on the head I guess the illini are for real. They might not be ready for USC yet but hey its a start. I wrote this orig right after the loss to Iowa. Where I orig grew up ( IA IL border ) it is painful to ever lose to Iowa. To lose to a really bad Iowa team is downright painful. JT Bagwel is from the area he can attest to what it is like. Not sure of the other areas of the country but I imagine it is like Alabama and Auburn, USC - UCLA or Mets - Yankees or Yankees - Boston etc I guess parody can have more of an effect in college just like pro football.

Daiwa steez baitcaster noise?
Glad it all worked out for him Charger IMO and only MO only A Steez or any $500 reel I would consider to be the "Ferraris" of reels. I would expect much higher quality of a "Ferrari" than a "Ford" or "Chevy" reel. If I splurged for the "Ferrari" I would be pretty ticked to know several of them had pretty substantial problems. IMPO I would have been leery of buying a Steez rod if their reel's quality is of this nature. From seeing Redlineroberts posts I don't think anyone is going to have big problems with the rod. For my money though I would have been inclined to go another direction but that's just me. Like I said glad it worked out. I guess I'm just a tough customer and look at things in a little different way.

Daiwa steez baitcaster noise?
A $500 reel ( new ones - not sure of your vintage Steez) that is noisy or the spool doesn't engage! Something wrong here, if I paid almost $500 I'd be ticked Don't own any Diawa but on the mid to upper price scales what I've read here on BassResource.com almost 100% positive on Diawa in general make that 98% or less as of these posts

Viva St Croix ??
St. Croix sounds Frenchish so.. I rec'd my 1st, one and only Avid from Reed's today 6'6" MF Spinning . Sweet, then had to make the big decision... do I put the Symmetre or the Pflueger President on it? The Symmetre was already on a decent rod so the Pflueger it was. Now I've got to sneak to the lake to try it out before the cold crap starts which could be here in the morning. Might be spring before I truely know much. My Pflueger has 10lb? braid on it and when I would barely tap the line near the lure I could hear it in the rod near the reel.

Thanksgiving gear specials
people shopping for batteries at the drigstore on x-mas day really burns my butt. Maybe they will just have Johniie or Suzy they will have to wait for 1 day!

Thanksgiving gear specials
This is a pet peeve of mine but do we really need to have fishing stores open on thanksgiving day? Some of my greatest memories are with the extended family at thankgiving. Shouldn't the employees of Gander and BPS be afforded the same? I personaly won't shop then same with x-mas and x-mas eve. I always "strongly" discourage my wife and kids from those days. If we forgot something from the market then so be it my mistake. I'm in the minority on this I know.

BPS Thanksgiving Sale
For a place that I generaly have a great deal of respect for BPS has to quit this garbage. If it is a Pro qualifier then so be it if not quit the deception. Or spell it out in fine rint at least. You can sell a rod and reel for $70 without the "false" name situation. This seems so blatant that one of these days a laywer is going o go in to buy from BPS and it will be instant lawsuit! JMHO

symetre or president
You should've kept that Stradic Muddy. You could have worn the Shimano posse badge and the spurs with the Dodgers cap. You would've topped it all off with the Pflueger Mook shirt. Oh what a sight it could've been!
-
symetre or president
x2 always $79.99 everywhere you look, never seen it cheaper. The only Shimano sales I've seen are on models they are re-designing such as the Stradic. The only other sale option I've seen is via a BPS combo and then it is prob just because of the rod sale.

covering a flat bottom jon.
You need to get it raised and sloped somehow. make some braces/ stands to get a taper on the tarp. Sloped toward the back or sloped to the sides should work. Bps catalog also has some device for this. I don't see it online but might give you an idea to look at one close bye.

symetre or president
I like the way you think! 8-) Let's just say my wife doesn't always see it the same way! lol

IN SEARCH OF VALUE AND NOT NAMES
Several people have mentioned this but it just doesn't work for me, In fact just the opposite is better for me most of the time. Not making anything tighter than I need to works best for me I then try to loosen it even more. I do what ever I can to get slop in the line to get the spool to move forwards and the line backwards. Whatever works for you is what's best. Long Mike maybe the Yo-zuri hybrid in bulk would be best to practice with. You don't have to shed tears to cut out a birdsnest ( inevitable on occasion ).

IN SEARCH OF VALUE AND NOT NAMES
I was just so happy with my President, I sent Pflueger an extra $10 Just kidding. I was recalling from memory, and that's always dangerous. funny stuff Some day we've got to have a beer at a BassResource.com roadtrip
