  1. Well that did it one x-mas rod coming shortly via the Reeds link via this site. Just need to pick out which model I want
  2. Dang RW that $96 deal is killing me. I need to upgrade some more on rods ughhh painful! down baitmonkey down
  3. Tomorrow, Go back and buy your 2nd Avid. Then buy one Symmetre and one President and problem solved! Then write a review and tell us what you thought of them. No charge for the great advice! Attention Mr Shimano and Mr Pflueger co's... commissions gladly accepted. lol
  4. First off Muddy what a great thread. I think several people have tried this and it always goes awry. Daniel my B unless w ship and tax you are overpaying for your Presidents! lol I will maybe try an allstar you mentioned. My suggestions Pflueger pres spinning $59 brand new about anywhere even cheaper used. Very smooth, Very sharp looking reel Shimano symmetre spinning $79 nice reel loks good pretty smooth Shimano Citica w BPS Extreme BC. I picked up a used combo from Hawgin on this flea market for approx the listed combo price. You can really tell the quality coming into play on the reel Rods I have not used a lot yet as it is new but I have Fenwick HMG, jury still out but several BR peole said they liked these for being slightly older technology. My local guy has them on clearance for $59 BPS lists at $119 I believe they have a few Techna AV's for $67 at this same local place Cabela's lists at $199 ( flea market coming up maybe?) I'm not sure what Berkley lightning rods everyone else is referring to for under $100 but the ones I use list at Wallyworld for $29. Gander mountain often sells for $19.99 Hard to beat the price I use the ML and love it for bass and crappie. It Has to be junk I know but I had a Shakesphere Excursion that for some crazy reason I enjoyed. I think I had a 7' M and had my Symmetre on it. My buddy broke it in the car door a month or so ago and I was bummed. I saw them at Wallyworld yesterday for $12.95 I think as a tribute to this thread I might go and pick one back up. LOL Again great post Muddy PS it was great talking to you on the phone I learned a lot. I forgot to introduce my real name though it is Matt Crum
  5. I would think it would be winter clearance time at BPS Doesn't seem to be a ton of sales on-line I don't have one close buy, has anyone noticed any extra speecial deals in - store? IE clearancing rods or reels or tackle bags etc
  6. so much for the moon phase theory!
  7. your wife , girlfreind or daughter ...................... Are all for sale make an offer Paypal preferred !
  8. Don't forget Burley will tell you which 7 brands of line you must have and Cart will tell you how to buy them from e-bay! LBH will recommend someone's daughter while you wait for the fishing stuff to show up! lol
  9. I'll sound like a broken record but Storm swimbaits 6 for $3 best value out there. You can buy them from www.customspinnersunlimeted.com and get much larger and many more colors. I use them a lot and catch a good portion of my fish on them. I buy the flat paddle tail ( swim shads?)ones with the single hook Just got a nice 4lb er last week on the 3" Whatever swimbait you pick let us know how you do
  10. Bass B after thinking about it some I think I got what you didn't get LOL
  11. I know you've done tons of research so this is probably a waste but you never know what might give someone an idea. I don't know a lot about your medical - I did read your " broken fins" posts on it though. I had an uncle who had migraines not the same kind prob I know, they were somewhat dibilitating (sp?). He started seing a chiro and it did at least help make the pain manageable. I know zero about it but have you ever thought of accupuncture? Can social services help ease the financial burden somehow? We always dread the stigma but I'd much rather my tax money go to a hard working class act like you than a pure bread lazy butt. I've also heard that drug companies will give away medicines in financial hardship if asked. just some thoughts. Have you exhausted all avenues? IE tried a different doctor? get second opinions? find a specialist with a new perspective? In the same tone as some of the others... I'm not a major religious person but a painting I saw once kind of sums it up. A guy walking in the sand with 2 sets of prints side by side then switches to single set of prints. . Caption says " god I thought you said you would always be by my side you deserted me when times were tough". God says " the single footprints are when I carried you".
  12. My wife and I have 5 daughters ages 25,21,20 and 2 x 8 1) Today was conference day One of the teachers said " Ashley is having a little trouble with reading comprehension" My wife says " all of our kids have had a little trouble with that I wonder why?" I said " its your half of the gene pool! " she playfully whacked me in the car later 2) The teacher said "we will be starting multiplication next, some kids seem to have started it on their own" I said " those are the kids with the young parents" playful whack #2 ensued
  13. The apology is a great first step. Time will take care of the rest. Maybe enjoy the site for what it has to offer for a while. Avoiding the flea market for a time might be a good idea! Hopefully fishing will be as fun and as relaxing for you again as much as it is for me. Good luck
  14. If 2 cars are traveling in the same direction at x distance apart and keep slowing down to slower posted speed signs as they pass them wouldn't the car in the back eventualy run into the car in front of it?
  15. Bassmaster magazine does a monthly section on what vintage items sell for. That might give you a ballpark idea.
  16. Cart It is called Eureka lake it is a small city owned lake just a few miles from me and is only 30acres. You can walk around the entire lake and fish from the bank. It gets a lot of pressure for its size. It does have some nice bass in it. Some 6-9 lber's have been caught in it. Thanks Lightnin
  17. I used a 50 cent Storm swimbait. I use them a lot.
  18. It was a very cool blustery day and I was getting my tail kicked. I switched to fishing for crappie and bluegill still no go. I switched back at the very end for one last bass cast and yes my best bass of the year. He hit near a submerged tree trunk and hopped over the other side. I'm thinking oh crap a nice fish and now a gonner as the tree had a 2 ft long spike sticking out to tangle me. Somehow I manged to get him back over the other side of the tree and out. Not a monster but tied my biggest fish at this lake. Maybe 4 punds ( didn't have a good scale). Did measure out just shy of 20" Not bad for November. I can get through the winter now!
  19. Straps, streches, excersize , rest all of it is important. The computer is not a big help either. Like they said if you can get it healed it is better but mine flairs up on occasion and is downright painful.
  20. My first rod after getting back into fishing was a Cherrywood baitcasting. I still have it and probably should use it more. I cought a lot of fish on it coupled with a Quantum Mantra BC. Selling all BPS Extreme's for Cherrywoods seems a little well "extreme" Go with one and see how you like it, lets face it for $20 you can't go wrong. If you don't like it give it to a cousin or a youngster or save it as a backup. As far as Lightining rods I have 2 ML 6's that I love for bass, crappie and for Bluegill. A couple of times a year at Gander Mountain and poss BPS I used to be able to find the older series on sale for the same price as the Cherrywoods ($20). Whatever you decide come back to this thread and wright a review.
  21. Hey never hurts to ask you just never know. Might want to add she cannot resemble your brother or some minor qualifier!
  22. Hey G_Basser I had one of these too and never thought much of it. I did catch a bunch of fish on it till my buddy broke it in the van door. Maybe the best $20 I've had. My favorite pieces are spinning - Pflueger President 6730 reel ( just looks and feels sweet Shimano symmetre 2500 reel BC - Shimano Citica
  23. Ok maybe I'm the dumb one but from what I see what idiot would would hand $50 to an E-bay stranger in return for a $50 gift card? Why not just take your $50 to BPS? Or call BPS and order yourself a gift card. If I were the seller I would be real nervous about the buyer. something just smells funny about this whole deal. Maybe BPS has some sort of point rewards system but it sure doesn't seem like the reward would be worth the risk.
  24. LOL I second that. LBH Working out was the master plan I just needed to make sure I felt comfortable leaving the 8yr olds in the pool by themselves as the excersise stuff is in another area. If I don't feel comfortable I can always do the lap swim. I'll need to work on a tan first so some smart alec kid doesn't say " hey mom look an Orca"
  25. I didn't put a "watch" on it so I don't think I cn find it again as the aution is over. I wonder if anyone bid more than the $50 for the $50 gift card? I found it this should be the link to it http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220160969622
