Favorite new bait/technique so far in 2010
This year I was able to get out early mornings so I threw a lot of topwaters. My favorite was Stanley ribbits. Great action come across weeds nicely and produce violent topwater strikes.

using soft plastics! help
I throw plastics on baitcasters all the time and never have this problem. What are you throwing? Also maybe tightening up your spool tension knob would help.

Night fishing crankbait colors?

kistler or dobyns
I'ts the Bantum curado. I have considered the Avid and have heard alot of good stuff about them. The only reason i didn't list it is because when i was at BPS last they had the Avid so i got to hold it the other two i haven't held, But I still probably should have listed it.

kistler or dobyns
Looking at the Kistler magnesium 7ft med heavy or the Dobynns savvy 7ft med heavy. I'm gonna use it for kind of an everything rod i have a 6.4:1 Shimano curado to pair it with. I'm just looking for some thoughts from you guys to help me make up my mind. Price class is 159. I currently own a Dobynns champion flippin stix and a St croix premier.

5:4:1 or 6:4:1 for crankin 6ft divers?
I think either ratio would be fine. I do most of my crankin at 0-6 and use a 6:3.1 but have used a 7:1.1 and a 5:4.1. at these depths i dont think gear ratio is that important. would you be using the reel for any other application or just crankin?

Uncle Josh MAXX Pork???
I was looking at getting some to. I read an article that pork has better action in colder waters than plastic. Figure I'd give it a try.
