  1. Try Bealls outlet, I got a few different brands there, can’t tell the difference between them, as far as performance. They were very reasonable on the prices, that way I can actually look and feel the material, as to purchasing online. I like them a little big for a little air flow. The hoodie & the gaiter……well I find myself having to remind to put them on. Another feature on some of the shirts I like is the thumb hole, to keep the sleeves down. I’m really y bad bout pushing them up on my for-arm.
  2. 8lb,12lb in mono and 40lb-50lb in braid.
  3. “A little tape and paint, will make it what it ain’t” That’s what my grandfather used to say anyway.
  4. Nice catch, I’m really not good at guessing weights. Every time I look back my pics they keep getting heavier.
  5. @Joedodge I have a few replaced spool bearings on mine. In my case, I gained some distance, but what I really saw was an improvement in my accuracy. It took less effort to cast, so I was able work on my skills in hitting the target, so to speak. I was very happy with up grading the bearings, I use ABEC 5 stainless, I really didn’t like ceramic, they do make the reel cast easier, but I didn’t like the noise. I like a silent casting reel.
  6. Hi from the sunshine state of Florida.
  7. Congrats… well deserved. Not only have you created a successful forum, where I’ve learned vast amounts of knowledge. I have made friends and had lot of fun.
  8. My condolences to you and all his family and friends. May he rest in peace
  9. I did the same thing, every so often, along with regular maintenance. I would redo something else. I kept mine as simple as could be, didn’t want to have a bunch of bells and whistles. I wanted less stuff to break.
  10. Happy Birthday BPS is a fun place.
  11. Hi everyone, And thank you @Glenn . I sure missed everybody and this site.
  12. I’m interested too, on how it holds up. Who makes KastKing?
  13. I tried flouro when it first came out. I was fascinated by its invisibility in the water. Man that feeling was short lived, I had nothing but problems with it, coming unspooled, my knots slipping. I went back to mono, although I think I should give it another try, but mono has been working for me.
  14. I don’t pre-rig baits but I do pre-rig my combos. I usually leave at dark- thirty in the morning, I got a pretty good ideas where I going to have my coffee and egg biscuit, and where & what I’m going to start fishing with.
  15. I like them over the pads, let them sink in the openings. If not overweighted they have a unique wiggle when they sink. I like the spike or nail weights in strategic places in the body. Sometimes it’s a trail & error thing. I saw where Mann’s make a snake type plastic, think it’s call the moccasin, could be wrong .

  18. That’s a very good question…. I’ve seen the same fish caught within a couple hrs. My dad caught a small mouth, line broke at the shore, couple hrs later he caught it. It had his Texas rigged worm still his lip. Now was it ever caught again, did it wise up, or meet the frying pan? I’ve often thought about that fish.
  19. Send some good mojo your way for speedy recovery

  21. Me too, whew!!…. Thought I was the only one. Even HOA’s are contracting the private sector for spraying.
  22. Dang that’s not good. Did the cap not vent or do you have an epa tank? I loosen the cap a tad an unplug the fuel line from the motor now. Once I had the pressure built up, pushed past the float and severally flood engine.
  23. I troll for striped bass when they are running. I’ve haven’t caught any largemouth trolling, but I did catch a big bluegill one time. The rod tip was hanging over the gunnel and the inline spinner was in the water. I didn’t know it was in the water, thought I got snagged, I grabbed rod as it was going over, was surprised when a fish was on it. Sometimes I will drag along a bobber step up with a wacky rig under it, does that count? Good to see you back @Bazoo

  25. My condolences…..I wish I knew any words that would ease the heartfelt feelings. Even time didn’t change the way I felt, but it did make it easier to cope with. I truly am sorry for everyone involved.
