Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida.
  3. I do like catching smallies, but it probably be the largemouth. That’s what I’ve been doing here lately, hunting the big ones. I’m no where near being 25% more than the record. But I’ve got a lot to learn and I’m having a blast trying.
  4. Hammer Glad to hear she’s coming home. still sending good Mojo your way for both of you. George
  5. I don’t think you’re going to have any problems, I think knowing when to set the hook is more important than how hard you set it.
  6. LOL …..It’s way too late for you hahahaha I use a dremel tool and wire wheels…aluminum, brass , even steel… depending on the hardness of the gear. Then a buffing pad on the dremel…. Very tedious. Just a buffing pad on the drag washers. Try freezing bearings and heating the opposing mating surfaces….heat gun or hair dryer, be careful not to over heat. Have to work kinda fast but it makes for easy install or removal. It’s funny, we will chuck them in the back of the truck, bounce them around in the boat, lay them on the ground….. but when we work on them, we treat them like we are disarming a bomb and the clock is ticking…..go figure.
  7. Be carful Big Hands, it’s a dark deep rabbit hole your standing next too. Most reels use unbranded and non rated bearings. When you start doing the research, you’ll find out about the “abec” bearing rating system. Then you go to the material of the bearing. Stainless steel, ceramic, hybrids, shields , no shields. Then to different lubes, light grease, oil, dry bearings. Then you’ll want to change the other bearings too. You’ll polish the gears and drag washers, replace the with carbon fiber. i personally use abec 5 bearings or better, I like abec 7 if I can find them for spool bearings. Sometimes it’s dark and scary down here.
  8. When passing in close proximity, I’ll usually ask “Doing any good” and If I’ve caught any thing I’ll offer what I’m catching them on, and most of the time they do they same.
  9. I use a Plano guide series tackle bag and for soft plastics. I use a Plano speed bag and leave th plastics in they’re original packaging.
  10. Happy Anniversary and please let us know when you use it.
  11. I know what ya mean…. The minute I take something outta my boat because I haven’t used it, I’ll need it within hours. Hahaha
  12. I carry a spare prop for my outboard, at least I can get home. Don’t carry a spare prop for the trolling motor, probably should. Then my day of fishing won’t be ruined. I all so carry spark plugs, which I’ve had to use, and a a small tool kit. Try to able to get home, before I have to “ call a friend” but, I’ve done that too.
  13. Glad to hear that, I use a lot of BPS gear and baits. I was wondering did you trailer from Welaka or did ya take the Cross Barge Canal.
  14. Wow, the only color I have none of. Oh well, been wanting to order from Siebert.
  15. I’m ashamed…… I’ve got about 20…. That includes my two one knockers. I feel so inadequate right about now….. LOL.
  16. I totally am with you….the next time I see some “windrows”, I will probably spend the rest of the day, in between cast that is, trying to figure out what I read about them.
  17. Good deal, what color jig
  18. So sorry
  19. I fish them Texas rigged with varies weights, sometimes fixed ,sometimes not. I’ve all so used a wobble head jig.
  20. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida
  21. May she be at peace, and my condolences to her family.
  22. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida, we’re almost neighbors.
  23. I use the Plano speed worm bags, and strap them on top. I have the Plano guide series tackle bag and couldn’t find anything that would hold enough for me to fit in the side pockets, if they did it didn’t hold enough foe me. I have the Plano guide series bag
  24. I’ve only caught anything on the darker colors of buzz baits, and I be got a ton of them. They are only a dollar at Walmart, so I’ve got 2 or more of all their colors. Ya might have to tweak them here or there, I’m not afraid to throw them where I might lose them ether at a dollar each. I like to use them when it’s dark too, or real early morning or late evening. I’m not a buzz bait expert by any means but they are fun to fish. I’ve never used a trailer hook, but I switch to different trailers a lot.
  25. Hello from the Sunshine State of Florida, never have fished the Mississippi every time I’ve crossed it, it was muddy.
