  1. I have tried to keep a log but never have followed through on them.
  2. It’s nice to start your day out laughing.
  3. Hello from the Sunshine State of Fl. I used to live in NC. I did a lot of creek fishing too, I used a Zoom finesse worm, green pumpkin or watermelon. Hellgrammites work great too for smallies, Bass Pro sells them. I Texas rigged with ewg hook, a popper worked good too.

  5. Hello from the Sunshine State of Fl and hello from Lake George, Florida
  6. I’ve got the BPS auto 35, it a class II PDF. It’s not hydrostatic, so when it rains, it can go, POOF!! So in bad weather ( which is when you need it most) I don’t wear.
  7. I bought some knock off rattle traps a few years ago, you know the ones, buy 5 or 6, variety of colors, comes in a neat little box that the hinges break about a week later. The finish on them wasn’t as good, scratched easy, but all seemed to have about the same action…..But one. It was a chrome -blue back that tracked to the left and swam slightly on its side, not a full 90 degrees, but somewhere in between. I caught a lot of fish on that lure, more than any other rattle trap I’ve owned. I fixed his spot and colored the top with a sharpie a bunch of times. I got broke off and lost that lure to what I’d like to think was a world record fish, helps justify in my mind loosing the lure. Probably a snag and I mistook the bump for a bite and set the hook into a 500 lb log. Anyway, I still buy knock offs but I have name brands too. I use them more in the ruff stuff, if I’m going loose one, I’d rather loose a cheap one.
  8. My friend switches from left or right, no problem. Me……no one is safe, not man nor beast. Oh!!! Wait!! the fish are safe!!
  9. I agree…. I measured my bearings then went on the hunt, most are in millimeters. Different ratings too, abec5,7,or 9 or no rating (really cheap). Then ceramic bearings, I didn’t like them, very smooth but noisy, in my opinion. I like silent. reach out to DVT and get his opinion too.
  10. I have put upgraded bearing my reels, a older bass pro extreme, I had it for about ten years. It really quieted the reel down and it cast smoother. I just did my carbonlite Bass Pro too, same results. I was looking for quiet and smoothness not really going for long casting or anything. They are pretty easy once you dive into it, I was a little intimidated at first. I took my time , took pictures and youtubed a few things. I think it was worth it, I got out cheaper than buying new reels. There is a sponsor here that could do them too.
  11. Wow!! How did the bream survive and the bass died?
  12. Hello from the Sunshine State of Fl.
  13. That bait is HUGE!!!
  14. Never seen one that color before, just lighter and dark of the original colors. I figured it was due to diet and time of year. never seen a golden Bass before. thanks for sharing
  15. Very sorry for your loss…
  16. I usually tear them down once a year during the my down time fishing. Unless they get submerged….. don’t ask. I take some time off during spawning and, pull my boat and service it and clean it, do my rods too. I use liquid bearing for oil and super lube for grease.
  17. I had everything spooled with braid until mid last year, I just didn’t like it. I couldn’t stand the noise it made when casting or on reeling it in. I know I didn’t use the most expensive braid out there, but I shouldn’t hear it. I also didn’t like the fading ether. I switched everything back to mono, but one, my pitching rig…for around dock, Lilly pads, or any other kind of rough stuff. I’m glad this thread came up, thought I was one of the few that has made the switch back to mono. Most of my friends fish with braid, guess I’m just….. “Old School”
  18. I’ve done that once….. I know what ya mean about being excited. I just couldn’t believe it. congrats on your double.
  19. Me too
  20. Congrats, on your catches! I’ve done pretty good fishing before the rain, even fishing in the rain, I just don’t like it when it is lightning. The change in the barometric pressure seems to make them feed more.
  21. I like to mix it up a bit. Black blue jig with green pumpkin trailer, or green pumpkin jig with junebug trailer. try to make my own Okeechobee color.
  22. Hello from the Sunshine State of Fl. you came to the right place….I’ve learned a lot from people on here.
