  6. Thanks for the reply I love this site, I’m constantly learning.
  7. When I lived in Nc. I had a spinning rod and a little back pack I kept in the truck. Here in Fl. I don’t, the heat really works on the gear here. Plastics get all funky, skirts on spinners matting up. The line gets so much memory it looks like a corkscrew. When I travel I’ll throw a rig with my back pack in the truck.
  8. Rain and a little wind I will fish on, when I hear the sizzle and crack and everything get bright. I usually pack it in.
  9. Glad you back at it, it amazing what you can do with your non-dominate hand…. If you have too
  10. I had a bat that was try to live in my engine cowling. I ha d to put screens over the holes to keep him out. I was really surprised the first time I took the cover off.
  11. Very interesting article, thank you for sharing that. I never really fished for large mouth in the evening until recently, I have noticed them being more active in the evening. My last two Pb were caught about an hour before dark. But, I do love fishing at first light, it’s cooler, for one here in Fl. Watching the sun rising , the orange-pink color the horizon changes too as the day starts. A hot cup of coffee in the cup holder, and a egg and cheese biscuit in the seat. That I’m taking bites of in between cast. That my friends, to me anyway, is a great way to start the morning!

  15. I cut school….a lot! We had a place we would go hang out at called “ the back waters” it was a kids hangout mostly at at night. During the day hardly anybody was there. One day 4 of us skip school, and we’re fishing at “ the back waters” when a state trooper pulls up. “ I know you boys are supposed to be in school, but since your here” he gets in his trunk and gets a box of garbage bags. “This won’t take too long, and I won’t have to run ya in” for the next hour or so we picked up trash. Mostly beer cans and bottles, he was nice about it, picked up trash with us. We all talked about different things, fishing, hunting ….why we were skipping school…..but it really wasn’t all that bad. Filled his car up with bags he ask us to take the rest, said good luck on the fishing and left. That day left a good memory
  16. I’ve got a 15/48 mod-V Polar Kraft, with 25hp 4-stroke. I think it handle waves and weather good for what it is. As good as a V-bottom…No. just keep aware of the weather and what’s going on around ya.
  17. I haven’t caught anything with a whopper plopper, on any color. I got five different colors…. to make a fair judgment, they are the “ knock off” of the whopper plopper.
  18. I beat my PB twice in one day this year, so for me I had a good year, fishing wise. Plus my wife got me a project boat for Xmas last year. I got it going and in the water, it’s a small 15 ft mod-v aluminum. Powered by a 25 hp 4-stroke, I really like it.
  19. I saw an article about a woman breaks Perry’s record in an inflatable, tried to copy the link but couldn’t. 22 1/2 pd out of California. I don’t know if it was the real deal , she didn’t get it officially inspected, she turned it loose. I didn’t hear anything about it so I don’t know if it’s true or not. I still trying to get a double digit

  23. I’ve got a question…. Has anybody ever use monofilament line conditioner on a cast net? Shrimp season is here and my net has been in a bucket for two years. It’s got a memory problem bad. Thought if it works our reels why can’t it work on a cast net. Any thoughts or suggestions??? I’ve heard letting it soak in fabric softener and water for a couple of days. I apologize if this isn’t in the right section. Thanks G
