Upgrading internal reel parts, where do I look??
You should send them to ReelMech... have a clean & lube and the new parts installed while they are there. It's like sending them to a spa retreat. ...lol No sense in having new bearing and pads in a dirty reel.

Shimano Core or Diawa Steez
I think he just got a 50mg... but excessive sarcasm and shock value are often his calling card. : Because we don't all use #10 mono or braid...

When fishing crankbaits, do you truly need a crankbait rod??
You misunderstood. Graphite has nothing to do with it.... a cranking rod is a mod or mod-fast action. (and can be any power) Many people like glass cranking rods but just as many cranking rods are made in graphite.

Wrigley Field and the Cubs to be sold!
probably a good deal for the team since new ownership will be fans as well. Tribune probably needs the $$$ as print has been struggling for a while. It's not like they could do that much worse with new ownership.... Go Cubbies!!

What are the best conditions to store line in?
cool, dry & dark for mono/fluoro. an indoor closet is a good spot. Braid will tolerate much more than the rest.

In Need Of A Little Help, Please
I'm horrible about this... I am in such a routine that i go to a few areas, in the same order each day... and never (rarely) even notice the intro section. I will make an effort to stop in there, with some regularity.

Best Rod for under $200
If you look hard enough, you will find IMX for that price. I don't think there is a rod made that competes with IMX for $200 or less. Some get close but that's as good as almost catching that PB bass. When you are fishing plastics... often times the biggest bass pick it up the softest.

B.O.A.T. (Break out another thousand)
Ahh... that stinks! Although it's not much of a consolation prize, you'll probably save a thousand by doing it all yourself. Wanda sounds like a good one!

ugly stick question
They are also good for crankbaits and most baits with treble hooks

Cotton Candy color?
I use CC a lot... I always do better with it in clearer waters.

Flippin/punchin rod ???
Dink, There is a reason that most true flipping rods are mod-fast. (short range, tight drags, heavy line, grass/slop and big fish) adding braid to that scenario only makes it more important. Something has to give, or as you found out, you risk damaging rods and reels.

How do you feel MN?
No matter how you feel about Favre, he's a better QB than any other option they had. They will be a better team with him than without him. I really don't like MN but I hope they win the super bowl just so Favre can give all the nay sayers the bird!!

Braided line and guides
Most guides used today can handle braid. The fact is that in years past, many guides were grooved with braid. (and some even with mono)

to all you rod builders
removing weight from behind the reel seat, no matter how little, negatively affects balance. but yes, you can split the grip. There was a tutorial posted a while back by "justtrying" you might find it with a search.

The Other Jig Bite

RECOIL Guides
That would also be my suggestion.

3.8:1 casting reel?
What you are looking for is the ABU 4600 Power4. What timing, mine is actually on it's way home from a week of TLC & pampering in Wichita, KS. ;D (thanks again, ReelMech!)

contemplated pulling the plug and swimming back to the truck
There are exceptions to every rule, but in the last 15 years I've done mostly preventative (mechanical and electrical) maintenance... they guys I know that skip the preventative (and common sense stuff) spend a whole lot more than I do. Lots of people joke about boats being money pits, but when you do what's recommended, you rarely hear that story. Put some of the time you spend prepping rods, reels, tackle and trips into the boat and you will likely have better "luck" in the future. I hope it gets better for you.

What do you do when a fish jumps??
Just smile and enjoy!

He's BAAAAAAAAAACK
As much as I absolutely despise what he did, he didn't sentence himself. My complaint and opinion is that the sentence and suspensions were too light. I have to keep reminding myself that he fulfilled the requirements of the court and served his time, however under sentenced it was. Beyond that, I just won't cheer for him or the eagles.

cork handles, and how i might repair/mend one?
a picture really would be worth a thousand words here... depending on exactly what you have, there are a couple possibilities to repair.
