I drill on the lathe. Usually drill from both ends. Heavy grain will always pull the bit. Drilling from both ends always works for me.

Nobody is THE best angler. You can name a dozen or so guys who are at the top but there are times that they all struggle and get beat. The top guys are there because they can flat out fish. We all have our favorites. I say they are all tied as the best. Way too hard to narrow it down to one single guy.

Tight enough to set the hook. Loose enough so that your line doesn’t break. I set the drag according to line, not bait.

Waterproof or not, my experience with a tent is that things are going to get wet. The harder the rain, the more wet it’s going to be. I’d prefer the cot.

Everyone is giving you excellent advice. Makes no sense to be there and not do a complete job. Also, make sure to pack the bearings, not just put grease on them.

There is no “right answer” here. I’ve only had one guide who didn’t get a tip. He was late and unprepared. We spent over an hour catching bait. I go expecting good service and I’m willing to reward that.

I absolutely love the sound of a Jitterbug walking in the night, especially when it suddenly gets interrupted. Makes my heart race just typing about it. I love them.
