Falcon Jig Boxes
I have the jig box and it is about 60% full. I think it holds about a total of 40 jigs. Everytime I go to open it up, there are 4-5 jigs loose. It seems like the smaller ones have the problem with staying in place. I don't have any big enough that won't fit. Are you sliding them in left to right and then, dropping them down into the weed guard slot? The weed guard is what holds them into place. I have to say I was a little disappointed at first. Now I just take a little more time to put them away and make sure they are secure in their spots. It is not perfect but it does okay. It is not the cats meow that I thought it would be. If you have the falcon bag, I would recommend it, if not, then just get a plano 3700 and make the dividers and that will work fine. For me, I am trying to get all my stuff in falcon boxes then, I can pick and choose what boxes I want to take for a certain trip, and just have the one bag.

Northern-strain Bass vs. Florida-strain Bass
I always enjoy reading your post as, they contain a lot a great information. I was just curious as to what your name is and where you are located. I am just an average joe out in south dakota that enjoys visiting this forum. I understand if you choose not to share this information. Thanks Rob Tuttle

Lake Yankton (north of Gavins Pointe Dam)
I have personally never fished it , but have been by it several times, as it is less than an hour from me. I looked at fishing a tourney there last year, a local bass club has an april tourney there the spring. It is a small 10-20 acre lake and is electric motor only(I think). A neighbor of mine fished it a couple of years ago and said they caught a lot of bass, nothing big though. I would like to fish it sometimes, I just don't go that direction much.

what line to use for suspending jerkbait
This is what I will do, unless the water is stained to the point that I can go straight braid (sufix).

Musky rod question
Take a look at the telescopic rods from okuma. I have heard some positive things about them. They seem to be pretty affordable in their class as well. http://www.okumafishingteam.com/rods/conventional/evxspecialty.html

Our First Bass Boat
That is a great little boat. My guess is you will make many great memories out of it. I have a buddy looking for a boat just like that. Do you mind telling what you paid for it? My buddy is looking to spend about $3k and we have not been able to find anything like your boat for that amount, unless it is 1000 miles away.

Favorite Lipless Crank?
The last couple of years I have been a big fan of the LC LVR7. I have caught a ton of fish on that bait. But, after watching KVD win the "Citrus Slam" this morning on the bassmasters elite, I will certainly be trying that Red eye shad out.

Sufix Siege mono
I would have to agree with the original poster. I bought both seige and elite last year to put on some of my, and a buddies baitcasters. We both experienced a lot of backlashing problems. I felt bad for putting it on his reels. Interestingly enough, after about 2 or 3 long outings the line became more manageable. I believe it was the lack of memory that created the backlashing issues. The line seemed fine after a few weeks but, those first few outings had me frustrated. I won't be putting any on this year. I guess that smooth talking Shaw Grigsby convinced me to switch. I learned my lesson and am going back to Yo Zuri.

braided line
I used to have that problem with power pro, but, I switched to sufix braid and found it to be much more resistant to rock abrasion.

My Daughter's catch of the night...
Great fish!! Congrats to both of you. I have an 11 year old daughter that I plan to fish a couple of tournies with this year. She likes to see that she is not the only female fisher out there. Thanks for the post.

Thanks Glenn and Greg. I will be watching for that new hook. Anyone here what it is called or what it is all about yet?

fishing with obstacles
Finally got a nice day in south dakota, hit almost 60 degrees. Did some bank fishing on the Missouri River. Had to watch out for the big chunks of ice coming down. No fish, the river is too muddy and the water has to be about 35 degrees. It won't be long though. It was just nice to put a line in the water.

Interview with Mike Iaconelli
Glenn, Great job on the interview. I never used to be an Ike fan, but that guy has true passion for the sport. Over the past 18 months, my attitude towards him has completley changed. That had to be one great memory for you as well. Thanks again for the great story and your efforts to bass resource.

First Tournament
my first team tourney we were tied for last out of about 30 boats. My first individual tourney I was dead last out of 16 boats. I did weigh 1 fish though (moral victory for me).

FAT IKA COLOR & PRESENTATION
Well I ain 't KVD but I 've never been an advocate of the "match the hatch" school of thought, to me color is one of the ways of telling the fish " LOOK AT IT ! " reason why I prefer hot colors or colors that contain a lots of flash ( lotz of metalflake ) In other words, choose the color you think will work best, presentation and location are more important. I saw that episode as well, and my interpretation of what kvd was saying, is that, match the hatch or the bottom color of the lake in clearer water situations, and in muddy or stained water, he tries to go with a good silouhetted color (dark) that may have some chartruese or other bright accents.

Browns Lake near Sioux City
Shad, I ended up talking with a DNR official, who said that he basically had not heard anything official yet but, they expect a lot of winter kill on smalller shallower lakes this year due to the ice and and snowfall amounts. Apparently ice fisherman with cameras have been reporting a lot of dead fish laying on the bottom. They will know more after ice out.

Browns Lake near Sioux City
Shad, I am in Sioux City and have not heard anything about it. There was a swap meet in town this weekend and I did not hear any mention of it there either. I'll see what I can find out this week. I wish I would have seen your post earlier..I would have had an answer for ya.

missouri river
Decatur, Onawa area is the furthest south that I have been on the river. The river looks to be the same maybe even a little more channelled down there. It may be moving all of 8mph. A 25 hp on a 16 ft john boat should do you fine.
