  1. Great post @Mike L
  2. As a person who grew up in the trades and reading a tape measure, this comes easy for me. I totally understand your point and respect it, but the metric system is a new language for a lot of folks. Your example is an easy one as far as weight of lures go, but now you gotta match your metric lure to imperial rod? Should we just pull the band aid off and just universally convert to the metric system? again, ? I say we should.
  3. Most paint manufacturers make epoxy paints in various ... grades, I guess you can say. Ben Moore, Shewin-Williams, Glidden (try and find a retailer and do not use HD. Glidden changes their paint formula for HD to make it more affordable and doesn't cover well) and the like. You want the 2 part epoxy paint that has an A & B components that you mix. I used Ben Moore the last time and that was 6 years ago. Looks the same as when I put it down. The materials were a bit expensive, but the 2 part epoxy paint we used was every bit worth it.
  4. Those girls were lucky those guys happened to see them. 53* doesn't sound cold, but it's very cold when your body is submerged in water for a long period. Not to state the obvious, just a thought.
  5. No clue ... I hurt my brain from thinking about it. After eating one: "I stepped in the scale and a ticket came out and said; "hey one at a time" - Rodney Dangerfield
  6. I used to travel a lot and we had accounts with Avis, Budget and Enterprise. Never really a problem. My daughter moved my truck along the fence adjacent to the street (side road) in my neighbor hood. Neighbor hit the truck. We brought it to a friend in the autobody biz and he said the biggest scam is opting for car insurance thru the rental company and advised me not to get it. So if you currently have insurance on your vehicles you may want to contact your insurance company to see if your policy will cover the rental. Especially if you're traveling out of state. Sorry about your aunt. Really sad to hear.

If I could get my hands on some unleaded jig heads for a reasonable price, I would tie my own and fish them as much as I can. I used to fish them all the time when we could use lead jig heads. As mentioned already, they are very productive year round. Making your own is a very relaxing activity during the hard water season. Ready for the saltwater season:
  8. Not really, no battery...
  9. And...I jinxed myself. The other day we had a FedEx delivery and the guy threw the box from his side sliding door on to the driveway damaging the contents. That's it! He's off my list this year for a Christmas card!!
  10. Must her sister from another mister…
  11. Hey John, fellow Bay Stater here Welcome
  12. Ok. Your original post was about the strength of the reel and not about weight, so my comment was about strength. I know 3 oz is a lot when it comes to fishing gear, but the gear we use now is pretty light stuff, so 3 oz doesn’t exactly give me goose pimples.
  13. Oh Wow! Just seeing posts from Marty, fishfordollors (?), florida strain, bassin_fin@tic, bassman31783 ... really brings back memories.
  14. We did as well... ... Except for one person who isn't a strong swimmer to begin with ... lesson learned
  15. For me, I guess it only matters if you run over the reel with your truck, otherwise, what's the point?
  16. I have the whole family wearing these when we're out. The cartridges are pretty expensive I might add. If you see them on sale, grab a couple. We had a wave come over the boat last season and 2 of these worked very well.
  17. So Dawn Wells & Barbara Eden, huh?
  18. I should have figured. Let me know when you have Get Smart on.
  19. Wow, hated to read that. My condolences.
  20. I honestly think the short arm spinnerbait has more to offer in a compact spinnerbait application. They are big producers for me that you really don't see in an angler's employ.
  21. While wearing a black leather jacket. Please tell me the motor cycle is in the driveway and not in the family room?
  22. You never know when you need a prosthetic with peyronie's disease.
  23. You should start fishing at resorts and not the bodies of water in the back of a WalMart superstore.
