  1. Striper seem to be more active at night in my experience, but I'm sure a good charter would put you on a good bite. Good luck and have fun. Wow. I will say, the charter I took a couple of years ago in Maine, was much different. I called to reserve a date, asked them how much the deposit was..."pay in full the day you come". I thought that was odd, but, worked for me.
  2. Seems to be becoming a lost art. I like a nice decorative wrap above the fore grip or on the split section of the rear grip. I did one many moons ago, but really never perfected the art of it. My first and only:
  3. Can't tie a knot, tie a lot? Good to know. Thanks.
  4. I haven't met a St. Croix rod I didn't like. Good luck with it @roadwarrior!
  5. My boat is about 2,100 with engine and gas tanks full. My jeep was perfect. I don't go fast on the highway, pretty much stay in the right lane and go the limit only because I had someone cut in front of me and slammed on their breaks a few years ago while I was towing a much lighter boat. Didn't think I was going to stop. The people who cut in front of you and have never towed anything, have no idea how much stress they cause the person who is towing something. I think you're fine with what you got.
  6. I'm sure it's temporary and you'll regain it fast enough. Good luck, mi amigo
  7. Glad to see you back at it. Took me a good 4 workouts before I felt "right" again even though I'm still dropping like a log, fast asleep around 2 plus hours after I train.
  8. All Gold Gold & Silver All White
  9. Cut back on saturated fat and hydrogenated oils. What's a saturated fat? A fat that solidifies when cold. Butter for example. It's also found in most meats, epecially red meat. Hydrogenated oils: Think french fries and snack foods (chips). Although Hydrogenated oils is becoming less and less of a "thing".
  10. Right now up here, there's still more demand than supply, but that's slowly changing. Dealerships up here are showing more inventory and, my opinion only, are still selling at inflated prices.
  11. Marlin fishing for me. I'll make it one of these days...if I become an empty nester...
  12. Wow, 6-7 mpg is a lot. Those Ridgelines get decent mileage if memory serves?
  13. I lose at least 2 miles to the gallon towing the boat. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up on a 2 hour ride, 1 way.
  14. We have the one's @Bird posted. We also have the USCG type 1 life jackets in the boat, just in case. The cartridges for those auto inflatable can get pretty expensive tho.
  15. My boat will be moored in the bay for the summer and thankfully it's pretty economical for a 70HP. Will mostly drift fish and make occasional boat trips with the family this year. I think last year boat gas was around $300, so if I can keep it to $500, I'll be happy. Gas to my house in Maine is a different story though. Gotta just grin and bear it.
  16. Thanks for the reminder, I still have to do a boater's safety check this year. Your timing is perfect! Thanks again.
  17. Oh wow...How time flies. Enjoy it Blue, my daughter has finished college and my son graduates next year. Enjoy it while you can.
  18. Those kids are growing sooooo fast...How old are the now Blue?
  19. SWEET!
  20. “Hello, animal control? I have a bear having my garage door as lunch!” ”How do you know it’s a bear?” “It’s bearly possible?” Sorry, couldn’t resist. Hope it all works out for you!
  21. I haven't used a Quantum reel since the early part of the ought-2000's which is weird b/c I like the 2 reels I do own. I've been on the Daiwa train for a few seasons.
  22. Thanks, man. Glad I'm through it. Looking for some schoolie stripers this weekend...post Virus...
  23. Sorry to hear that buddy. Dehydration was a huge problem for me. The Covid cloud is real! I wouldn't wish Covid on anyone. Good luck, man Wait, day 12? You must have gotten it around the same time I did?
  24. Finally tested negative yesterday.
  25. It's crazy everywhere. I've gotten sideswiped twice in the last 3 years or so. Isn't fun, especially the first time when I saw the car coming at me from a distance, going at a pretty good clip and I kept telling myself 'he sees me, he sees me". Finally at the last minute I yanked the wheel and landed up on someone's front lawn. Then you get the drivers using their car as a weapon and deliberately driving people of the road. Ain't fun at all.
