Circle hooks have to be used with live bait - whole or cut - for striped bass here in New England. Research proved that striped bass didn't live much longer after being gut hooked. Along the US East Coast in 2019, it is estimated that: My son (fairly new angler) missed so many yesterday on cut mackerel and circle hooks, it was frustrating to say the least. He had fun though.

You may be right @gimruis, again, I think it's by region as to what detergents they put in. My friend who deals in gas told me that they do add for the winter here in MA. Really doesn't matter, it's not pure gas we're getting as consumers out of the pump. BTW: I'm in "Like" purgatory. Don't be offended...

They put additives/detergents in gas based on region/climate. I read the same thing as Tennessee Boy read. They can't pipe up ethanol, it all gets trucked throughout the US and then added to gas.

We're starting to see some reduction in gas prices around here. I'm sure you're seeing the same.

Water in the gas line?

Just learned something today. I never would have thought a 19'er would have problems with 4 anglers. I thought the beam on those things were wide enough to stabilize the boat? Thanks for posting.

Gin and Soda really for me. I really don’t like tonic water (quinine). Gin: For me, I always have a London Dry Gin and my fav for gin and soda is Bombay Original Soda: Club Soda. You can use seltzer, which I like, natural spring water or sparkling water. The latter 2 I don’t like. Enough ice to keep the drink really cold from start to finish. 1/4 Lime wedge, squeezed 1/8 Lemmon wedge, squeezed 2:1 soda - gin as mentioned is a good starting point but really depends on how boozy you like it. This drink for me is a good summer, day time drink. I like it just boozy enough but I want the citrus and botanicals to shine thru. Swap out the club soda for tonic water…if you must

I always install a swivel. Maybe just a minor insurance policy for me.

Good deal, man. I had to take a few of days off, unfortunately. On vacation starting tomorrow. I'll bring a couple of things with me to hopefully get back at it. Hoping to feel normal by the end of vaca. Keep trucking brother.

This is actually very true. If I drive my Jeep like I drive my boat, then I really maximize my gas mileage. My boat gets it's best fuel economy when it sits on the trailer. J/K When I run the boat at 4,000 RPM, I get the most fuel economy. My Jeep will get the best fuel economy if I shift at 2,000 RPM max. Anything above will drop MPG. People behind me don't like it coming out of a red light, but driving like there's an egg between my foot and the gas pedal really helps.

If you see 10 in a span of a 2-3 weeks, that's a lot to me considering how new and pricey they can get.

I see those Rivian's a lot now on the roads.

I'll be on the ocean, so maybe a little "movement won't be all bad.

I never notice a difference from 1 gas dealer to the other. I do notice seasonal gas mileage fluctuations. I get the best mileage now - summer - and the worst during the winter.

Good question. One that I haven't thought of before and I couldn't tell you if it's good or bad. I still keep it on.

I probably wouldn't pay attention to the tape and would GPS the lake a others have mentioned. Being in construction, the orange marking tape usually indicates that a surveyor went thru lot/parcel and marked the trees that would be proposed come down for future development, so I would ignore it.

OMG. @N Florida Mike and @Choporoz, not sure who wins the worst vertigo experience, glad you both made it through. Agh! Anyway, I went to see the doc and yes I have vertigo. Thankfully not bad. He found some wax build-up in my inner ear and flushed it out. Gave me some exercises to do and hopefully it will clear itself in a couple of weeks.

I'm not sure that's totally true, although there still are those anglers with an old school mentality about giving up reports. I'm sure the guides do the same, but I respect that. We have a pretty good crowd of recreation anglers in the K-Port area who share reports from striper/blue to ground fishing. I guess if you don't want to share, then don't.

I always loved the spinnerbait and 4" T-Rig grub combination. Spinnerbait was always a short arm version, usually a Colorado blade. If fish rolled on it, you followed up with a grub.

Just spit ball'n here If it transitions to another type veg, that could be spot to work. Also check to see if rock/boulders are adjacent. Usually that transition is productive. Veg Humps and depressions are usually money.
