The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Gonna be close to 100* here today, so me thinks a couple of beers in the pool after work are in order. I may make a run to Michigan and steel @12poundbass' Miller Lite out of his fridge. About the only thing with alcohol that will keep me hydrated. So, do you know what Miller Lite and making love in a canoe have in common? It's f'n close to water.

learning to fish 4 panfish --- spinners, spoons, trout magnets, near the bank... help, mr wizard!!!
I used to take the rear treble off of a popper and tie on a 12" - 18" leader. Use a small jig or a fly. Pop. Let the rings disappear and pop again. I'd catch bluegill or bass with that rig. Ya know, I haven't done that in a long time. May have to redeploy that rig.

Bass Tournaments - Profitable?
Sad really; used to be a 6 figure salary would suffice. O.P. I think you answered you're own question.

Looks Like I’ll Be Taking A Break
I've been incorporating a ton of mobility work into my routine and have found that lower back pain for me is usually tight hips and quads. Upper back is t-spine extension and/or rotation, tight lats and pecs. Usually the latter 3 really affects my shoulder mobility. Takes me 30 - 40 minutes on some days to take the necessary steps to unlock the tightness from sitting all day and get to where I want to be. Good luck and follow the advice from a professional and not some jig fishead.

50’s Music
Mom an Dad like to stop over at the beach house for a drink. They have a place a block away. So good, no driving. They’re in their 80’s so I’ll play some 50’s or 60’s music. They really like 50’s best. I like it too. I remember as a kid that it was always on when we went to uncle Mac’s house on Saturday nights. Must have been 8-10 yrs old at the time. 50’s music works?! No?

Hey bud, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but can you post a map of the ocean in Tennessee? I’m assuming east coast. Thanks. I learn a lot here on bass resource.

Looking for fluero or mono
Running 20lb Big Game for salt fishing. No complaints at all. Like @Jar11591 mentions above, I run Trilene XL on some freshwater set-ups.

Loop knots for finesse jigs
Surgeon loop knot for fishing jigs straight. If not, dropper loop up about 12” - 18” above the surgeons loop. Add a name your favorite sinker and install on surgeon loop and 1/4 oz jig on dropper. Sort of a drop shot.

gut hooked fish
Fair question JF and a hard one to answer. Some guys are good at getting a deep hook out, some guys don’t care and will get the hook at any cost and some will just flat out take their time and basically suffocate the fish. The ones that don’t care about fish mortality in order to save a hook are the ones that drive me crazy.
