Focusing efforts this year on Lunkers. "Knowing Bass" pdf was interesting but not too practical. Please help me a system/book! 'Big Bass Zone,' 'In Pursuit of Giant Bass' , Doug Hannon?
Well this topic took off. I saw it as; "I don't want to do the research, I just want free answers", type of thread. Carry on EDIT: I just reread the OP and realized that I was being a little too subjective and disingenuous. Sorry OP ... Good luck in your chase

Winter Olympics
Definitely ice hockey ... ever since the '80 team I've been addicted Luge is a favorite as well It's funny, you see all these athletes in various winter sports in great shape and then you see curling and they look like they flooded the back yard of a pub and trained there ... haha

Bucket List!
@Blue Raider Bob , the water temps for that time of year may be cold for humans but magical for LMB ... hope you catch a biggun!

Bucket List!
I thought I was giving good advice … haha … I’ll bet that in June those waters will be in the upper 50*s. Maybe low 60*s I promise, I wouldn’t joke about the temps in ME

Need tips for making my own jigs
I've learned a lot from @cadman and @Jig Man over the years and I know @SC53 makes really nice jigs as well. I will say that I didn't use the O-rings as a permanent material for the final jig but I like using them during the assembly. I think it provides the flexibility to move the material around and helps you add some flash to create lateral lines and what not. Once your material is where you want it you can then add the wire, tie wrap or thread to lock in place as a final component. Cut the O-ring and your jig is done. The O-ring method really helped me when I first started assembling jig until I got proficient with the process. They are also good for that last minute "oh crap, I forgot to make this pattern" occasion where you can throw a few together in short order and go fishing. Good luck

Finesse skirt jig question
To be fair, when I think fitness jigs I think of a thinner skirt and trimmed to about a 1/4” passed the hook. I like the skirt to be layered so the material that bends over the collar will get cut to about the length of the hook or a little less.

Waterproof Fishing shoes
I’m in a similar pair of LL Beans. Love em And yes, not really breathable. Well not breathable at all. In fact you sweat in them and your family walk around with clothespins on their noses when you take them off … haha

What’s your favorite Carolina rig swivel and size ?
This is the way I would go. Pick a small swivel that meets the strength rating you’re comfortable with and fish it. The beads and what-not are good for dirty water otherwise keep the rig a clean as possible. The less bling the less snot you pick up while dragging it. And leave the sleeping pills at home, that rig will more than help you fall asleep … haha … good luck

What’s your favorite Carolina rig swivel and size ?
I never paid attention and only bc it's been quite a while since I used the rig but swivels sizes are rated by its strength, I would guess anywhere from size #12 - #5 would get you there. Just spit ball'n of course. I love @MassYak85 's post ... great info there

Road To The Superbowl 2026
To be fair, I’m not optimistic about the game. But should the Pats win the conspiracy theories and excuses will surely be out there. The Red Sox and Yankees troll each other which makes the rivalry fun. This isn’t even close to fun. The difference is there is no speculation, the trolling actually happens with the Sox/Yankees. I’ll check in on this thread at the end of the game.

Well if Brock Huard, the award winning investigative journalist thinks the Pats are behind it, then who am I to argue?

drop shots and loop knots
The bucktail jig in the pic I posted is a 1/4 oz so you can use your bucktails for double duty

Sloped driveway
Guessing that @Jig Man has your solution

drop shots and loop knots
I use it all the time in saltwater applications. The jig is on the dropper loop and the bank sinker is on the bottom using a surgeons loop. I use it for vertical drift jigging. The loop allows for more movement in the current making the bucktail flare. For that reason I don't want the dropper loop cinching down taking away the action.
