Roboworms. Specifically 4" Body Shad and 4.5" or 6" Straight Tail Owner Mosquito Hooks. As light as possible. Usually 1/8 oz. and as heavy as 3/8oz. I personally like Quick Drops.

What do you expect?
It really depends. There are times I expect to get skunked. I voted for "I'm just happy to be on the water."

Frozen Guides
Sweet! Megastrike did not freeze after about 7 hours in the freezer. I wonder if it will work as well as vaseline.

Frozen Guides
Cabela10, you may be right. I really don't know for sure that it's not environmentally friendly. But the fact that it contains 25% Liquified petroleum gas tells me it's probably not the best thing to put in our lakes, rivers, or oceans. Of course a small amount sprayed on guides probably wont do much. I would just rather be safe than sorry. Maybe a chemist could enlighten us... I have a small dab of megastrike sitting in my freezer right now. I want to see how well it holds up to freezing temps. Yeah, yeah! I know... ;D

Question for the CA big bass guys
While I don't consider myself a "big bass guy", I'm with roadwarrior on this one. Pictures can be very deceiving, especially if there is just one angle of the fish. That being said, I wont even judge that picture because I have no clue! ;D I would be interested in what Fish Chris thinks of the picture. He has probably seen more pictures of 10+ pound bass than anyone.

Do round BC not have brakes?
;D Good one!! I forgot about that. The first time I took the side plate off I thought I broke the reel because I didn't hold the clutch bar up when putting the plate back on. Infinite freespool!
-
Do round BC not have brakes?
Yes, it has brakes but not like the Daiwa's. You have to remove the handle side to get to the brakes on the Cardiff. There are 3 thumb screws (2 on the CDF100A) holding it in place. Unscrew 'em and you will have access to the VBS. This is the only thing I don't like about the reel. Hope that helps. P.S. Be careful when tightening the thumb screws. If you over tighten, the washers will break.

Fighting Cabin Fever (video)
My girlfriends brother has been raving about that game, especially the fishing. I have to admit, I didn't think it would look that good. I thought it would be some lame side game but when I first saw your video, I thought it was a game all by itself. Too bad I'm not into video games like I once was...

Frozen Guides
Muddy, You're too much man! ;D The scotch would be to keep ME from freezing! Garnet, The good thing is that we don't see this kind of weather too often. The air temp this past weekend was 25 degrees when I got to the lake at 7am. I probably should have stayed home!! Cabela, I've heard and read about WD-40. My only concern is the pollution factor. I'm thinking a little megastrike might do the trick. :-/ Thanks for the replies guys. Chances are I wont see that kind of weather too often but it's good to know what to do when placed in a situation.

Frozen Guides
What is the best way to keep the guides on a rod from freezing? Is there anything special I can put on the guides to help prevent them from freezing or do I just have to deal with it? Check this out We Southern California boys aren't used to this!! > ;D

Terminator Hybrid Blade

Favorite line
I have been fishing Pline CXX for 3 years, and have never broken off a fish while using this line. Abrasion resistance and tensile strength are through the roof. I think people complain about the memory of it too much...I don't think it is bad at all in the 15lb and under ratings. I completely agree. PLine CXX is the first line I tried when I started bass fishing. I keep going back because it never fails. Memory is hardly an issue for me with lighter line. The 20 and 25lb I use for swimbaits are a different story. I use it from 2lb up to 25lb. Great line!
