  3. I am a Believer also, Spool it, Fish it, Love it. It's the only thing I use.
  4. How many times have you taken one of your good lures / jigs taken the time to get your knot just right wetting the line to make sure you don't burn it up, tighten the knot, grab you scissors and clip the main line rather than the tag, toss it in the water only to realize what you have done.
  5. One time I was bank fishing across from a boat ramp. Three Older guys pull up in there jon boat.. They were drunk as all get out. It took them probably 30 minutes to load all there gear, rods, reels, coolers etc. They backed the boat in the water got it off the trailer and one of them tied the front end of the boat to a pole. All three got in fired up there little motor and punched it. The rope had gotten underneath the boat and none of them untied it. I swear I set there as the boat nose dived, and went straight down. And the back end came out of the water and stood up, It threw the guy in the back running the motor over the other 2 guys into the water all three were thrown out. I guess two of the guys couldn't swim and were yelling and screaming like little girls, Help!! Help!! I'm drowning beating and thrashing in the water. The other guy had gotten out of the water and was on the bank, He started yelling at his buddies to shut the hell up and just stand up the water was only 3 feet deep. They stood up walked out of the water there buddy who could swim did the best he could to get there rods and reels back, they loaded it all back on the truck and left. True Story!! I have never laughed so hard in my life.
  6. Like all animals, fish must maintain a certain chemical balance in their blood and body fluids if they are to survive. Since the pH of their blood is slightly alkaline (7.6), it is not surprising that bass seek out water with approximately the same pH. When the water pH is near this value, bass are best able to withstand stress and utilize the oxygen in the water properly. This is not to say bass will travel far distances to find an ideal pH; the species are very adaptable and can survive in water with a pH ranging from 6.7 to 9.6. However, given any choice, if there is water within their immediate region that has a pH of 7.5 to 7.9, that is where bass will be. I don't know guys, I think sometimes we just over think things. Having time to go fishing, being on the lake, enjoying the outdoors is what its all about, Catching a Bass now and then is a bonus.
  7. Drop shot a 4" finesse worm, usually does the trick for me when the bite is hard to get.
  8. I'm glad you guys liked it, It seems like I never heard much about square bills until KVD, I think won a tournament with one, then it seems like everybody had to have one....including me. LOL
  9. http://www.insideline.net/index.php/hard-baits/585-understanding-and-using-square-bills Hey guys if I'm not suppose to post this please delete. I did find it an interesting read.
  10. Thank you sir for clearing that up, I was reading it in the non catch and release section. That's why I ask
  11. So am I reading the rules correctly, each bass has to be weighed by a certified scale to be entered. No fisherman can enter a bass that he has weighed him or her self? And the operator of the scale has to sign the entry form? I wouldn't even know where to find a certified scale to have the fish weighed.
  12. I've got a small Pond Prowler 8' . Been looking at the big foot switch, but all it does is turn the motor on and off. Thought maybe this would be a way to solve not having to buy a foot control trolling motor. The motor I have now is 40lb and only 2 years old, I just cant justify buying a new motor but would love to have some hands free control.
  13. http://procontroll.com/?page_id=40 Anybody know of anyone who has ever used one of These? Thinking of trying one out.
  14. I don't believe you guys can't see that Bait ? It's obviously a Deadly Duddly
  15. If the trolling motor is the only motor on your boat then you better take some oars along to row yourself back to shore. Like others have said Save your money and go to wal mart and get a good Everstart Marine battery. I can run a 40lb thrust motor as my only motor, I fish on average 7-8 hours when I go out, I have never run it below 50%
  16. I too have wondered about these. I fish a pond prowler 8 foot boat. I run a trolling motor and fish finder, Do you think If I went out with a charged battery and kept a solar charger hooked up to it while fishing that it would help maintain my battery life. Or is this thought A waste of Time?
  17. Ive got a pond prowler from bass pro shop. The only thing I regret is not getting a bigger trolling motor. I have a Minn Kota 40lb thrust. With no wind according to my fish finder I am running at 3 miles per hour. In the wind around 1 to 2. The lake I fish is Electric only, Just think the next time I have to get a trolling motor I might go with something with foot control and a lot more power.
  18. Thanks guys, Just hope the rest of the season is this good. I just wish it would quit snowing.
  19. Finally got a warm day to get out, Water temp was 40 when I started air temp was 39, By the time I quit mid afternoon water temp was up to 42 and Air temp was 65. Actually caught this off a grass point in about 6 feet of water. I was letting the lure tick the top of the grass when she bit. Weight was 4.88 according to my scale. First fish of the year I just hope this is how the season goes, caught 2 others around 1.5 to 2. Sitting here now watching the snow fly.

  22. I rammed the one I have now into a rock bank and put a small hole in it. Went to Lowes and bought a piece of black pipe drilled holes in the pipe to make shavings. I took the shavings laid them over the hole, took a torch and heated a large screw driver and touched the shavings to melt them. Hole is fixed and ive never had another problem with it.
  23. That's concrete grooves in the boat ramp.
