Motivation
I like the peace and quiet away from everything while I catch bass.

My Big Five Outfits (OK, maybe six)
These are the 5 I use the most. They may change from trip to trip, and depending on the time of year, but I'll have at least 4 each trip. 6'6" mh/f, 15# mono, 6.3:1 bc for jigs. 6'6" mh/f, 15# mono, 6.3:1 bc for Texas rigs. 7'0" mh/f, 15# mono, 6.3:1 bc for heavy moving baits. 6'6" m/m, 10# mono, 6.3:1 bc for light moving baits. 6'6" m/f, 10# mono, 5.2:1 spinning for finesse plastics.

Life time membership???
Nope. As stated above, there is a wealth of information online if you know where to look.

A great, slow morning
Nice looking bass!

Crankbaits - Deeper and Larger Profile
It's been quite a few years since I've fished for bass with a deep diving crankbait. Going deep these days means I use lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits.

Cleaning Reels question
I oil and grease my reels a couple times a year. Once a year they get a good cleaning. The rods get a good cleaning too.

Rigging up Jigs/Trailers
I'll tie on a jig the day before a trip. I'll add the trailer once I get out to the lake and see what the conditions are like.

Fish management on private lake--is it a good idea to remove small bass?
The first thing I would do is call the state conservation dept. and see if they can come out and shock the lake. The shock won't kill the fish, and they can get a good estimate of the number and size of the bass compared to the forage.

How many "Average Joe" bass anglers do you think are out there who could dominate the pros?
Dominate no, but make the pro work for it, yes. I think it would depend on the skill and experience of the average joe.

Keep it or get rid of it? Sporting items we no longer use
My mom and dad grew up during the Great Depression. They didn’t get rid of anything because you might be able to use it for something else.

How often do you respool?
I respool as needed. Sometimes I can get away with once a year. Sometimes I have to put on new line every 3 months or so.

Thanks to my brother
Very sorry for your loss.

Remember When
How about garage doors you had to manually open and close. I remember when they started the national 55 mph speed limit. That seemed so slow.

Lost one of the best. RIP Norm
RIP.

Setting up rods
I usually bring rods for jigs, t-rigs, moving baits, and finesse, but I don't rig up until I am ready to fish. Weight and baits are determined by wind, weather, cover, and water conditions.
-
Fall jig trailers
It depends on what the bass are biting. Some seasons they want big bulky trailers, and sometimes they want a small trailer. I usually start with a super chunk and go from there.

Do you keep a finger on your line?
Nope.
-
Confidence Bait
Either a jig and craw, or jig and chunk.
-
Your top 3 Fall baits?
Zoom Finesse Worm. Jig and craw. Spinnerbait.

A quick after work session turned into one of my coolest catches. (First time I have had this happen)
Now that's fishing efficiently!
-
Is this a bass with abnormal fins, or something else?
Whoa! I'd send a pic to your conservation office and see what they say.

Post a photo a day!
-
Jerkbait rod casting or spinning?
I use both.

Mid to deep diving crankbaits stock hooks
I use all of my baits right out of the box after I sharpen the hooks on them.
