You'll be out on the water soon enough. Just take it easy and heal up.

Mini Rant about trucks with Bright Headlights.
Around here it's really bad. Trucks with high beams and after market lights turned on during daylight hours. Have to wonder about some people.

A lot of the time I'll start catching bass on the bluegill and crappie baits.

Swim jig vs. chatterbait
Around here a chatterbait seems to outproduce a swim jig.

How to fight a large bass
This is usually what I'll do. If you can break the bass' momentum as it is coming out of the water it can't shake the hook.

Anyone ever been forced into a fishing hiatus?
Because of work, kids, and family there was a gap of about 15 years that I only fished about one day a year. Fast forward to 11 years ago to when I had surgery on my right shoulder. I basically lost half the fishing season being in a sling and then with physical therapy.

Finesse Texas Rig? Favorite baits?
Over the past few years I have gotten away from fishing small plastics on a Texas rig. I rig them up on a split shot rig, or I'll try weightless if there is no wind. I'll be using a 3" Stik-o, 4" straight tail plastic worm, or a 4" Stik-o.

Sit or stand ?
Fishing out of a boat I stand. The only time I sit is to change baits, or eat.

Baits for slick nasty “moss”
Not sure how thick your moss is, but you could try a weightless fluke or weightless senko type bait.

The Worst Thing About Fishermen
I've told a couple of people the lake where I caught the fish in my pics. They don't believe me and say something like "ok, be that way".

Never I Have I Ever......
Dang, I've never seen anything like that.

Would 17 pound mono work on this reel in a size 2500?
I don't go heavier than 10# mono, and that's fishing Texas rigs in thick vegetation. If I were casting small crankbaits in open water I would go with 8# mono.

Jigs vs texas rigs in ponds
If I'm fishing from the bank in unfamiliar water I will always start off with a Texas rig until I learn what the bottom is like. If the bottom is clear, or has slight vegetation, then I'll switch over to a jig. If there is a lot of stuff on the bottom, I'll stick with the Texas rig.

Fighting the wind
Use your electronics to get an idea of what the bottom looks like where you want to fish. After that figure out where you'll need to position the boat in order to fish that spot with the bow of the boat pointing into the wind. Then turn the bow into the wind and drop the anchor.
