  1. I use Pline CX 6lb on my crappie rigs. It is. 0084 so basically the same line diameter as the 5lb Maxima the other guys recommended and it handles good and has decent strength.
  2. Glass used to be popular for spinnerbaits. My Team Daiwa S 7' rod says crankbait/spinnerbait and it is glass.
  3. I have two SLX 7.2:1 reels, and I like the old VBS brakes I am used to from having Curado and Citica D/E/Gs. I am just curious if the MGL spool fits right in?
  4. I have a 6'8" Lowrider AOY rod that is MH mod-fast. Great spinnerbait/buzzbait/square bill/traps rod, and I use to have the 6'6" Lowrider Herm rod in spinning that was MH fast. I liked it as a senko/tube/shakey head/finesse jig rod . Obviously neither are good for heavy cover stuff or diving cranks but otherwise sure they are pretty versatile.
  5. I like these for finesse, or for rock bass and crappie.
  6. Normally true but between rewards and a discount code they sent me I have about $60 off before the trade in. Your right the reels I was looking to buy are not in stock at the nearest store, so I added another SLX reel online.
  7. Anyone go? I was curious if Shimano and Daiwa are taking part in the reel trade in this year.
  8. Exactly why I will not buy one, I just do not find split grips comfortable. The musky guys get a choice of split or classic grips from St Croix why not the Bass guys? Military names seem perfect for a rod series called victory.
  9. I second the SLX at $100 apiece at BPS, or the Fuego on Amazon.
  10. I use to have a ML Premier F casting rod, now that was more of a popper/jb rod but it has been discontinued, ST Croix Med F I would use for heavier trebles like spooks but that is about it. Never mind I see you listed it as spinning, ya that rod should be fine .
  11. I like the green better. It casts alot better and yes handles good and is fine on spinning reels. Armillo is ok if you need more abrasion resistance and not as much distance, never had knot strength issues with either.
  12. This x2. You can get decent distance plus good accuracy with say a 6'9" rod, and I dislike those long handles too.
  13. Yes any of the SLX reels will do. Personally I like the standard $99 one.
  14. This ^^ They work all year round especially those one knocker types.
  15. I bet they are similar to the Pflueger reels from 2011-14 that I had. Casts light lures very well, better reels than what Pure Fishing has these days.
  16. Suffix Elite is more like XL, Siege is like XT.
  17. Wish they would bring back the Cabela's house reels, they were Daiwas. And the spring sale sometimes they have some pros. I met KVD at one.
  18. Me too it is what I am use to. I have a Fuego CT and Tatula CT also and I like them but prefer the SLX.
  19. MH Crankbait rod should be fine.
  20. This color? I would have to look, I think the SR versions I have might be glass versions.
  21. I had one of the gold Supreme 30 xt reels that I bought on clearance at Gander Mountain like 5 years ago, best spinning reel in it's price range hands down at the time, yeah I have been hearing the Pflueger line went to crap these days I wonder why.
  22. Seeing these reels on ebay from Australia, any word on if Daiwa brings them here to the good ol USA?
  23. Or even in the Bass X line.
