We were on them out of PI in the main lake last Sunday. Boated 21 lost many more. We will be there this Sunday too. So far the weather looks like a green light. Find the bait, and you will find the fish.
  2. It was good to get back out there,It was like we just started back where we left off in late November. Sounds like Pymy is on fire. Hell, I didnt even try the river yet.
  3. the green fish baits will work for the brown fish too. what lake?
  4. We hit the main lake yesterday. 21 smallies in the boat. Missed a bunch too. Started out in 43 fow and moved in as the day went on. I caught a few in 17 to twenty as well. I tried a lc pointer in 12 to 15 and had some staring it down but no takers. Lake was like glass, made the run from shades beach area to east street launch in like 7 minutes
  5. Sounds like a great outing, thanks for the report. We went to Moraine, I caught one. warmest water we got to was 43.
  6. I had a bucket handle meniscus tear couple years back. worked on it for a month or so. I couldnt lock my knee out and it was pretty painfull but I got used to it. Went in for a scope, out the same day. no biggie, took a while to feel 100 percent. If you tore the acl that a whole different ballgame. Hope its just a meniscus. and you recover quickly.
  7. Nice Catch, I like the dark coloring in contrast to the Lake Erie versions. I can only imagine the power that those river fish posess.
  8. Congrats to all the Denver fans.
  9. is that a jensen jig in your hat?
  10. We went back up this past Sunday and smashed them in near "Deadliest Catch" like conditions. caught around 25 in less than 2 hrs fishing time. Its one thing to get bucketfulls of ice water to the face and getting bounced around by four foot waves and putting up with rain driven by 15 to 20 knot winds and not catch anything, but when your landing 3 and 4 pounders nonstop you dont notice the conditions near as much.
  11. We all have those days, In our minds we say "yea he got one, but its only one, now if he gets another...." I had a episode at Presque Isle bay about two years back. We both got a few smallies early in the am, as the day progressed we ended up fishing in the perfect storm of prespawn hungry smallmouth. The only trouble was for some reason I was cursed. My buddy is landing them like every other cast. I start looking at his tube and its the same as mine.I ask him about the weight of the head again same. Same line ect ect... For like an eternity I watched as my partner and every other boat in the area were whalaying fish, I saw small kids with scooby doo rods with fish flopping on the bank. Everywhere I looked people were hooked up. I could'nt help but too laugh, but I kept my head down and my nose to the grindstone and finally caught one on a jerkbait and that released the gorilla from my back. When fishing is tough (and it usually is) I draw upon that experience.
  12. let us know how you make out.
  13. It just helps the bait slide down their throats better
  14. Last sunday we went to the big lake and caught good numbers but nothing over 4 pounds. Today we found some big hungry footballs. While weighing a six pounder it broke our digital scale. The next one I landed was much bigger looking but we could not get a weight on it. we landed seven each,It was like 30 degrees this morning making for a real chilly ride. Water temp was still in the fifties.
  15. I am in like Flynn. I can pass the whiz quiz too.
  16. My day bought a Black and tan from Kimbertal kennels. This dog is a real head turner and for as bad *** as he looks he is the sweetest dog and well trained. My dad bought him as a retirement gift for him self and they are a team, they pretty much do everything together. I know that the kennel air shipped the dog to Pittsburgh. and once when he was a puppy he got sick from bad dog treats. I called the kennel and they were very helpful. His coat is like a gloss black paint job. I cant say anything bad about this breeder.
  17. I havent had a chance to get out yet. I want to down one with the Excalbur. My best shot is gonna be when the season goes to dusk. I will keep you posted. e
  18. I like their chances. I think they need to have the running game going to sustain drives and eat clock keeping the pack attack off the field.
  19. yesterday I was casting with the wind, launching a big crank a mile. I then said 'watch this world record cast' and proceded to launch my calcutta 250 into the drink. We fished for it for about an hour but it was in about 20 fow
