Mike and I popped the propeller off today after replacing the water pump ( thanks again Mike) And I ran it down to performance propeller and showed it them. He called the dings rash and said he could take care of it. As he's writing up the ticket he mentions that after he straightens it, I should see a fair amount of performance improvement also. No idea that it was bent. Now I am not a prop guy.......I know what they are and I know they shouldn't wobble. At least I think they shouldn't wobble. That's it. I guess I know where they are suppose to go to....but that's it. It reaffirms my belief that while I may be able to do many things fairly well.......some things are just better left to the pros! Prop will be ready on Friday.

Thanks everyone. Special thanks to Long Mike for dropping by to help me. Definitely made it easier/faster with 2 people. I really appreciate you Mike.......thanks for taking the time. Now I did not think I was having issues with the pump.....I was just doing routine preventative maintenance. But if you look closely you might see where one of the fins of the impeller had pulled away from the side of the housing creating a gap and I think there was a second fin doing the same. This impeller had 2 seasons on it........just saying stay on top of maintenance. Thanks again.

On your computer issue.......if they were granted access to dad's computer and or wifi..........depending on their abilities/skills......any personal, banking information or any information for that matter could have been compromised. Hopefully not......but one should always keep a close eye on one's bank accounts. I work at a bank......at least for a bit longer anyway.......probably will be ok as long as dad did not give them any info, passwords or key in any passwords.......key stroke recorders are bad little things. I think tomorrow is going to be replace the water pump day. ( I hope) Will be my first time.....but looks pretty straight forward. Any warnings or watch out fors? Edit: 2001 mercury 150 xr6 In general........ Unbolt lower unit. Gently slide the lower unit down. Unbolt water pump. Remove the housing. Remove the impeller. Be careful not to lose the key. Install impeller greased slightly Install 3 gaskets Install housing lightly greased Bolt to specs Slide lower unit back into place Bolts/nuts to specs Sound about right?

x3. Take it to a marine mechanic. but it does not hurt to poke around first.......at the very least ask the marine mechanic if you can watch him.......you really want to be a little familiar with your boat motor.

Yes, Wed April 30 - Monday May 5th are the official Road Trip Dates. Wednesday April 30th and Monday May 5th are travel days. My wife and I are getting there a couple of days early, so we will be there from Monday to Monday. A Few lucky folks get there before us even. You don't have to attend 4/30 to 5/5.......come just the days you are available.......but I think you will want to be there everyday!
