You have until the 28th to reserve a cabin......after that they are released to general population. While I think you can register for the road trip anytime.......I think they prefer as soon as you can so the folks providing meals on three nights know how many to plan for. Just post here what your looking for travel and lodging wise and someone will respond or send that info to Long Mike or Alpster and they will try to coordinate if they can. Papajoe222 is traveling down from north of you......not sure of his route....and was looking for some travel companion. Holler if you have any more questions. You can PM if you like.

Sorry....I misunderstood. I think I would swap it out.......although I think the only difference is the deep cycle batteries are designed to be drained low and recharged........but that's not good for a starting battery.

We meet the first 3 nights in one of the cabins or a place that is designated after we get there. There is a lot of communication while we are there. There is a boat launch very near the cabins. The nearest town is Town Creek.......kind of small.Everybody gets together each night. Google doublehead lodge and you can look at map or go to googlemaps and look at satellite view. Just holler if you have anymore questions........send in your registration form yet?

This statement alone, reduces the cost of attending the Bass Resource Road Trip!Last year was my first Road Trip.......and I don't plan on missing another one! When I get to the end of my time here on earth.......I'm thinking about having myself taken to the taxidermist......then I could keep attending the Road Trips.....even after I'm gone. The only downside to that is........I guess I would have to let my wife drive the boat! Seriously.......it is a blast and I did not hear one complaint last year on the trip.......not even from me. C'mon and have some fun........make that decision today and send in the registration form and make some plans with us.

I was worried too....very worried. But it was very easy.....I cut mine with a skilsaw and finished corners with a hand saw. Measure 5 times and cut once....watch for wires, ect. Do a search here on the forum for recessed tray,.....a lot of info on it. I love it and will never have another boat without one!

Back in the 80's out in the oil fields in the Bakersfield area all the companies used CB radios to communicate........everyone on the same channel. Some guy declared himself 'Wolfman'......and every morning, at the end of everyday and at different times of day would key his mike and release a long howl and then make some kind of statement. " aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooo. The wolfman says, it's time to go home!" On a Friday afternoon. Or "Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooo. The wolfman says it's time to eat." At lunch time on a Tuesday. Always in secret and nobody seemed to know who it was. There was one particular foreman for Branch oilfield construction that absolutely hated this guy and his howling. His name was Whitey and he was in his 40s or so. He would jump on the radio and holler at wolfman that he was breaking radio protocol and if he ever caught him......he would make sure this wolfman never worked on that oil lease again! This went on for a year or so. Then very early one morning Whitey was at home and was awakened by the wolfman. Aaaaaaahhhhhhooooooo.......the wolfman says get your ass up! Whitey half alarmed and half homicidal.......ran outside to find his wolfman. It was his own son! Needless to say Whitey learned to chill out a little and have some fun at work! And it did not matter that everyone now knew who the wolfman was.........it was still as enjoyable as ever when the wolfman howled and announced his thoughts!

I understand what you're driving at I think.........but to me a lake usually has water running through it at most times........generating electricity maybe.......and a reservoir has water running into it but holds all the water without releasing it. I have not fished a reservoir since leaving California......I like lakes better. Wide ones or narrow 'river' lakes....I like them both.

I use 20# tuf-line on everything and tie on fluorocarbon to everything except jigs. I think the fluorocarbon leader just disappears in the water.

I've got the entire deck glued down tonight. Only the hatch lids left to cover. The carpet is already cut for them. I will work on those each night this week. Had to fanagle some way to hold/press the carpet around the storage/livewells.

If she is wearing it.....you can still put your head in the water to shock/stun the fish! That door was just too wide open!
